  • • As a Senior Manager of Clinical Applications at Worldwide Clinical Trials, you will lead the strategic oversight and operational excellence of mission-critical clinical systems that directly support life-saving drug development and patient care, ensuring seamless functionality, compliance, and performance across a global portfolio of validated applications.
  • • You will drive the end-to-end management of clinical application lifecycle—from requirements gathering and vendor collaboration to configuration, testing, validation, and ongoing support—ensuring systems meet GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, and ICH E6(R2) standards while enabling efficient, high-quality clinical trial execution.
  • • You will partner closely with business stakeholders, IT infrastructure, Computer Systems Validation, and Technical Delivery teams to align technology with clinical operations, fostering cross-functional collaboration that ensures enterprise-grade support for systems central to drug development workflows.
  • • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining application management plans, monitoring system performance and uptime, leading incident investigation and escalation, establishing and tracking KPIs/QTLs (such as system utilization and availability), and ensuring disaster recovery readiness through regular DR testing coordination.
  • • You will lead data governance initiatives across the clinical portfolio, ensuring data integrity, mastering, and integration rigor are upheld in alignment with regulatory expectations and internal quality standards.
  • • You will author, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Business Guidelines for both IT technicians and end users, ensuring clarity, compliance, and consistent application of processes across global teams.
  • • You will provide technical expertise and training to teammates and business users, mentor junior staff, and foster a culture of continuous learning and accountability within your team.
  • • You will collaborate with software vendors to understand roadmaps, assess new functionality, and support integration of enhancements while maintaining validation status and compliance.
  • • You will work with project teams and end users to resolve technical issues, prioritize escalations, and ensure minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • • You will estimate, plan, and coordinate implementation activities for system upgrades, patches, and new releases, balancing timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • • You will contribute to a culture of innovation and excellence within a global IT department that values technical rigor, proactive problem-solving, and patient-centric outcomes, supporting Worldwide’s mission to improve lives through better clinical research.
  • • You will grow as a leader in a highly regulated, mission-driven environment, deepening your expertise in clinical technology systems, regulatory compliance (GxP, FDA, HIPAA), and enterprise application management while developing strategic influence across IT, clinical operations, and quality functions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree preferably in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or Life Sciences with technical focus)
  • • Minimum of 8 years’ experience managing application performance, health, and availability in regulated environments such as pharma, CRO, or healthcare
  • • Demonstrated expertise in people leadership, including inspiring, coaching, and developing diverse teams while managing team dynamics, resolving conflicts, and recognizing individual strengths for optimal performance
  • • Proficiency in MS-Office and cloud-based systems and applications
  • • General knowledge of HIPAA, data privacy and security, GxP, FDA regulations (21 CFR Part 11), and ICH E6 (R2) Good Clinical Practice
  • • Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or SQL Server
