📋 Description

• As Senior Manager, Product Design at Relayfi Inc., you will lead a team of product designers to elevate design quality and consistency across the product portfolio, ensuring that shipped experiences are not only fast but also clear, thoughtful, and durable—directly supporting Relay’s mission to empower self-made business owners with financial clarity and control.
• You will partner closely with Product and Engineering leadership to shape problems early, advocate for foundational UX improvements alongside feature work, and drive cross-functional collaboration that balances near-term delivery with long-term systems thinking under real-world constraints.
• Relay is a scaling digital banking platform at a critical inflection point where design quality and system cohesion are under pressure from growth and roadmap demands; your role will help institutionalize design judgment and scale UX excellence beyond individual contributors.
• You will lead and mentor a group of product designers across multiple product areas, providing actionable feedback through critiques and coaching, setting a high bar for UX craft, and helping designers grow in their ability to consider flows, states, edge cases, and long-term implications—not just screens.
• You will contribute to and evolve Relay’s design systems, improving consistency, flexibility, and scalability across the product, while ensuring designs are grounded in technical reality through deep collaboration with engineering partners.
• While this is a leadership role, you will stay close to the work, rolling up your sleeves when needed to help move projects forward, and you will be measured by design quality, team growth, clarity of experience, and product impact—not volume shipped.
• You will operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where you’ll make thoughtful tradeoffs, advocate for user and business impact, and help shape meaningful product experiences alongside thoughtful partners who value outcomes over deliverables.

🎯 Requirements

• Significant experience leading and mentoring product designers, including managing experienced designers
• Exceptional design taste and judgment with a clear point of view on what makes products feel intuitive, usable, and well-crafted
• Deep grounding in UX fundamentals and systems thinking, considering flows, states, edge cases, and long-term implications
• Ability to clearly articulate design decisions, especially when the right answer isn’t obvious
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and making thoughtful tradeoffs in fast-moving environments
• Proven ability to partner effectively across product and engineering around a shared vision, understanding technical constraints and implementation realities

• Competitive salary range of $175,500 CAD to $214,500 CAD, with most new hires starting at $195,000 CAD based on impact level
