• • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mobile Engineer specializing in Android POS terminal applications. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in building, optimizing, and maintaining the high-performance Android applications that power our large-scale transaction environments. You will collaborate closely with a talented team of Mobile Architects, Backend Engineers, Product Managers, and Hardware specialists to deliver robust, secure, and scalable POS features that are essential to our users' success. This position demands deep, hands-on expertise in Android development, a thorough understanding of complex payment flows, and proven experience integrating with POS hardware and adhering to EMV standards. You will take ownership of intricate features from conception to deployment, actively contribute to strategic system design discussions, and champion engineering excellence across our codebase.

• • Design, develop, and meticulously maintain sophisticated Android-based POS terminal applications using Java and Kotlin, ensuring a seamless user experience for merchants.
• • Take full ownership of the end-to-end development lifecycle for critical transaction functionalities, including sales processing, refund management, transaction reversals, and end-of-day settlement procedures.
• • Forge strong collaborative relationships with backend engineering teams to seamlessly integrate APIs, ensuring efficient and reliable synchronization of transaction data across all platforms.
• • Implement and refine offline-first capabilities, architecting solutions that gracefully handle edge cases and maintain operational integrity even in environments with intermittent or low network connectivity.
• • **Payments, Security, and Compliance:**
• • Integrate and manage complex payment transaction flows, including EMV chip transactions, contactless payments via NFC, and other card-present methods, ensuring accuracy and security.
• • Work extensively with industry-standard encryption protocols, robust key management processes, and secure payment Software Development Kits (SDKs) to protect sensitive financial data.
• • Champion and enforce compliance with the latest payment security best practices and regulatory requirements, safeguarding both Moniepoint and its users.
• • Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve critical transaction-related issues reported in production environments, minimizing downtime and maintaining customer trust.
• • **Hardware Integration and Peripherals:**
• • Develop and maintain seamless integration with a variety of POS hardware peripherals, including card readers (magnetic stripe, chip, and contactless), secure PIN pads, thermal printers, and barcode scanners.
• • Leverage and adapt Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) SDKs specifically designed for Android-based POS terminals, ensuring optimal hardware performance.
• • Manage and optimize communication layers for embedded hardware, including Bluetooth, USB, and other serial communication protocols essential for peripheral interaction.
• • **Code Quality, Architecture, and Engineering Excellence:**
