📋 Description

• As a Senior Product Marketing Manager for API and Event Management at Kong Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping how the world understands and adopts AI connectivity—translating complex infrastructure concepts into compelling narratives that drive adoption among technical practitioners and enterprise decision-makers alike. Your work will directly influence Kong’s market leadership in the rapidly evolving API and event management space, helping position the company as the essential platform for securing, managing, and monetizing intelligence flow in the agentic era.
• You will develop and refine positioning, messaging, and go-to-market content that resonates with platform engineers, eventing teams, architects, and C-suite buyers, ensuring Kong’s API Gateway and Event Gateway solutions are clearly differentiated in a crowded marketplace. This includes crafting solution briefs, white papers, battlecards, and keynote narratives that articulate Kong’s unique value in enabling secure, scalable, and governed AI connectivity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• You will become a deep product expert in Kong’s API and Event Management offerings, mastering not only the technical capabilities but also the best practices, use cases, and integration patterns that matter to developers and platform teams. This expertise will enable you to serve as a trusted advisor to Product, Sales, Partnerships, and Solutions Engineering teams, providing market-informed insights that shape roadmap priorities and go-to-market strategies.
• You will act as a thought leader in the API and event management ecosystem, representing Kong at industry events, analyst briefings, customer advisory boards, and conference keynotes—demonstrating command of both technical depth and strategic vision to build credibility and influence across the ecosystem.
• You will collaborate closely with Product Management to inject market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive analysis into the product prioritization process, ensuring Kong’s roadmap remains aligned with real-world needs in AI observability, vector databases, IPaaS, and agentic orchestration frameworks.
• You will partner with Field Enablement to design and deliver high-impact sales plays, pitch frameworks, and competitive battlecards that empower Account Executives and Solutions Engineers to win complex deals, particularly in enterprise accounts where technical validation and executive buy-in are critical.
• You will work hand-in-hand with Demand Generation and Content teams to build integrated, account-based campaigns that generate qualified pipeline from target personas, aligning messaging across webinars, white papers, digital ads, and event programming to maximize conversion and engagement.
• You will continuously monitor the competitive landscape across API management and event streaming vendors, conducting win/loss analysis and developing proactive counter-positioning strategies that anticipate market shifts and reinforce Kong’s differentiation in performance, security, extensibility, and AI-native capabilities.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 2 years focused on developer infrastructure, API management, cloud-native platforms, or data streaming technologies
• Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with both technical audiences (engineers, architects) and business buyers (C-suite, line-of-business leaders)
• Demonstrated success in developing product launches, sales enablement materials (solution briefs, battlecards, white papers), and competitive intelligence programs that directly impact pipeline velocity and deal acceleration
• Strong collaboration skills—ability to influence cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Field, Developer Relations) without formal authority, built on expertise, credibility, and follow-through
• Comfort and confidence delivering keynote presentations, leading analyst briefings, facilitating customer roundtables, and conducting demo-heavy sessions in front of large or senior audiences
• Experience with open-source software, SaaS platforms, and enterprise go-to-market motions is strongly preferred
• Familiarity with the API connectivity and event management landscape—including awareness of competitors and complementary technologies in API gateways, AI observability, vector databases, IPaaS, and agentic orchestration frameworks—is a strong plus
