Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end development of Brilliant Harvest’s white-labelled React Native applications that are used daily by thousands of dealership technicians and sales staff across North America. You will architect, code, and ship features that directly reduce equipment downtime and improve customer satisfaction in the ag and construction sectors.
- • Design scalable mobile architecture that supports both Android (primary) and iOS, ensuring rock-solid performance in offline-first environments typical of rural job sites. You will define module boundaries, choose state-management patterns, and establish coding standards that keep velocity high as the team grows.
- • Bridge React Native to native Android (Kotlin/Java) and iOS (Swift/Objective-C) layers when performance or platform-specific capabilities demand it. You’ll write thin, testable native modules for camera, Bluetooth diagnostics, push notifications, and secure storage, then expose clean JavaScript/TypeScript APIs to the rest of the app.
- • Maintain parity between mobile and web experiences by contributing to our React + Tailwind CSS web codebase. You will share components, design tokens, and business logic wherever possible, and you’ll help tune Nginx configurations and CI/CD pipelines so every commit reaches users quickly and safely.
- • Collaborate daily with product managers, designers, and backend engineers in lightweight sprints. You will translate Figma prototypes into pixel-perfect UIs, negotiate API contracts, and run joint debugging sessions to guarantee that new features delight users on day one.
- • Champion quality through comprehensive unit, integration, and E2E tests (Jest, Detox, Appium). You will set up automated checks in GitHub Actions or Bitrise that catch regressions before they reach TestFlight or the Play Console, and you’ll monitor crashlytics dashboards to keep crash rates under 0.1%.
- • Mentor junior and mid-level developers via pair programming, architecture reviews, and brown-bag sessions. You will grow the team’s React Native expertise, document tribal knowledge in Notion, and establish a culture where craftsmanship and empathy are non-negotiable.
- • Influence the long-term technical roadmap by evaluating new frameworks (e.g., Expo EAS, OTA updates, AI SDKs) and presenting concise trade-off analyses to founders. Your recommendations will shape how Brilliant Harvest scales from tens to hundreds of dealership partners over the next 24 months.
- • Optimize for rural connectivity constraints: implement smart caching, background sync, and data compression so technicians can access schematics and parts catalogs even when cellular signal is weak. You will measure bundle size, startup time, and memory footprint obsessively.
- • Participate in customer feedback loops—join occasional Zoom calls with dealership service managers, review support tickets, and turn real-world pain points into backlog items. Seeing your code reduce a farmer’s harvest downtime by hours is the ultimate reward.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of professional mobile development experience, including 5+ years hands-on with React Native in production
- • Proven native Android expertise (Kotlin/Java) and working knowledge of iOS (Swift/Objective-C) for bridging and performance tuning
- • Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript, React Native internals, Redux Toolkit or MobX, and RESTful API integration
- • Experience with React, Tailwind CSS, Nginx, and modern CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, Bitrise, Fastlane, or EAS Build)
- • Self-starter mindset with excellent communication skills and a track record of owning features from design through deployment
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary plus equity in a fast-growing agtech startup led by a serial entrepreneur with two prior exits
- • Fully remote-first culture with flexible hours and an annual home-office stipend
- • Clear learning budget for conferences, courses, and certifications to keep your skills sharp
- • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits from day one, plus a four-week paid sabbatical after three years
