- • The Solutions Engineering Department serves as the technical backbone of the sales organization, bridging customer business needs with the company’s technical capabilities and solutions. The team partners closely with Sales, Engineering, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to design, validate, and present technically sound solutions that support revenue growth and long-term customer success.
- • Sales Engineers act as trusted technical advisors throughout the entire sales cycle—from early discovery and solution design to proposal development, RFP/RFI responses, and contract support. By translating complex technical requirements into clear, customer-focused solutions, the department ensures alignment between customer expectations, technical feasibility, and operational delivery.
- • Contribute to customized data center solutions focused on electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including power, cooling, redundancy, and facility systems.
- • Support the development of high‑level solution concepts, ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational alignment.
- • Engage with clients to understand their business needs, technical requirements, and challenges.
- • Conduct detailed requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- • Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and design to implementation and post-deployment support.
- • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other customers to ensure successful delivery of solutions.
- • Evaluate and recommend technologies, products, and services that align with client needs and industry standard methodologies.
- • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the data center industry to inform solution design.
- • Develop and lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to validate proposed solutions.
- • Oversee testing and validation of solutions to ensure they meet performance, security, and reliability standards.
- • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of solution designs, configurations, and deployment procedures.
- • Provide knowledge transfer and training to clients and internal teams on the implemented solutions.
- • Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process, including client presentations, proposal development, and RFP responses.
- • Assist in creating solution blueprints, cost estimates, and technical proposals.
- • Identify opportunities for improving solution design processes, tools, and methodologies.
- • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for solution architecture within the organization.
- • Handle additional duties as assigned by Management.
- • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in a customer‑facing technical or sales engineering role, supporting electrical and mechanical data center solutions during pre‑sales and early project phases.
- • Familiarity with IT, networking, or cloud platforms is beneficial.
- • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex technical solutions in the data center or technology industry.
- • Strong organizational and project management skills.
- • Strong understanding of data center technologies, including servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
- • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design scalable and reliable solutions.
- • Proficiency in architectural frameworks, design patterns, and solution modeling tools.
- • Strong communication and social skills, with the ability to engage with clients and internal teams effectively.
- • Strategic problem solver with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- • Thorough with strong organizational skills.
- • Ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
- • Travel required is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves.
- • Salary Range: $135,000 - $160,000 (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)
