📋 Description
- • The Sr. Database Engineer - Operations ensures the reliable operation of client data feeds and the health of SQL Server environments, with a strong focus on SSIS workflows and T-SQL, directly supporting data integrity and system performance for client solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include owning operational support for data feeds and ETL processes, triaging and resolving tickets related to jobs and data anomalies, developing alerting strategies in SSIS, analyzing database structures, executing targeted SQL scripts for business rule-driven updates, managing backups and restores, performing index and statistics maintenance, monitoring database health, tuning T-SQL queries, developing and maintaining ETL pipelines using SSIS and Azure Data Factory, ensuring data quality through validation and reconciliation, implementing monitoring and alerting, producing runbooks and documentation, participating in peer reviews, and serving as a subject matter expert for assigned clients/projects, including participation in on-call rotations for critical production systems.
- • The role sits within Ansira Partners, LLC’s Data Platforms team, collaborating closely with engineering, DevOps, QA, and client-facing teams to design solutions that balance performance, cost, and operational simplicity while ensuring adherence to architectural and operational standards.
- • In this role, the engineer will deepen expertise in SQL Server administration, SSIS-based ETL, performance tuning, and operational data management; gain experience with Azure Data Factory and CI/CD for database deployments; strengthen cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; and contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance system reliability and scalability for growing client workloads.
🎯 Requirements
- • Excellent understanding of T-SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and views
- • 5+ years working with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or above in a production environment
- • Hands-on experience providing operational support for SQL Server, including backups and restores, index and statistics maintenance, disk configuration, and query and workload performance tuning
- • Strong experience with ETL tools, particularly SSIS, building and maintaining production pipelines and job feeds
- • Proven ability to analyze existing schemas and stored procedures and design targeted SQL scripts for safe, auditable operational data updates and exception handling
- • Familiarity with Git-based source control and CI/CD tooling for database and ETL deployments
