- • Lead and grow two engineering teams responsible for building and maintaining critical integrations in Zapier’s product, serving as the senior engineering presence in India to drive technical strategy, team health, and AI-powered productivity.
- • Manage day-to-day leadership including weekly 1:1s, team meetings, skip-levels, performance management, coaching senior engineers on technical influence and career growth, and removing systemic blockers to delivery.
- • Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, Support, and Sales to align on product vision, shape architectural decisions for key integrations, and ensure customer needs are met through reliable, high-quality solutions.
- • Act as the primary engineering leader for India by shaping local hiring strategy, fostering team culture, onboarding new engineers effectively, and serving as the connective tissue between India-based engineers and the global organization.
- • Drive AI adoption across teams by championing AI-assisted development tools, identifying high-impact use cases for LLMs in engineering workflows, and setting the standard for AI-native engineering practices at Zapier.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of engineering experience with at least 4+ years managing engineers, including experience as a manager-of-managers or leading multiple teams simultaneously.
- • Proven ability to hire, develop, and retain senior and staff-level engineers, with experience scaling teams while maintaining velocity and culture.
- • Hands-on technical leadership: comfortable participating in code and design reviews, shaping architecture, and contributing to code when needed, with expertise in distributed systems, authentication, and developer experience.
- • Demonstrated success using AI tools (e.g., coding assistants, LLM-powered internal tools) to improve productivity, reduce toil, and improve code quality, with informed perspectives on AI’s role in engineering.
- • Strong collaboration and communication skills: able to balance technical and business concerns, build shared understanding, and advocate for teams with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- • Deep customer empathy and experience working with Customer Success, Support, and Sales to improve integration reliability and customer impact.
