📋 Description

• Own end-to-end development of production features spanning Python/Flask APIs, React frontends, and data pipelines connecting ad platforms like Meta, Google, and TikTok
• Build and harden integrations with third-party advertising APIs that are external, unstable, and critical to core product functionality
• Modernize and evolve a mature Flask + React codebase serving hundreds of customers, prioritizing incremental improvements over full rewrites
• Design and implement data-rich interactive dashboards and visualizations that translate complex causal inference results into actionable marketing insights for customers
• Collaborate directly with data scientists and engineers to convert statistical outputs into intuitive product experiences that drive budget allocation decisions worth millions
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) into daily workflow to accelerate boilerplate generation, exploratory coding, and feature delivery
• Participate in on-call rotation and take operational ownership of systems you build, including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
• Conduct thorough code reviews across the team to uphold standards for quality, clarity, and maintainability in a high-velocity environment
• Translate ambiguous customer needs and product requirements into technically sound solutions that prioritize user impact over ticket-based execution
• Communicate technical tradeoffs effectively to non-engineers, including product managers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams
• Work within a cloud-native environment on GCP, managing deployments, infrastructure, and service reliability for production systems
• Navigate legacy systems with pragmatism, making deliberate tradeoffs between refactoring and shipping while leaving codebases in better condition than found
• Lead technical direction for product areas as a Staff-level engineer, making architectural decisions that scale with company growth
• Drive cross-team initiatives across multiple services or repositories, coordinating sequencing and dependencies to deliver complex features
• Mentor junior engineers through code review, design guidance, and modeling best practices for maintainable, scalable software
• Operate autonomously in ambiguous environments, breaking down loosely defined problems into executable plans and driving them to completion without heavy oversight
• Contribute to a culture of high ownership, low ego, and continuous technical elevation in a fast-moving startup environment focused on impact over process

🎯 Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications and APIs
• Strong full-stack proficiency in Python and React, with experience in Flask, SQLAlchemy, or similar frameworks
• Experience working in and improving large, established codebases with pragmatic tradeoffs between refactoring and shipping
• Comfort with cloud-native environments (GCP preferred) and production deployment/monitoring practices
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and data-heavy applications
• Proven track record of integrating AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) into daily workflow to accelerate delivery
