- • As a Staff ML Research Scientist specializing in Co-Folding and Affinity at SandboxAQ, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s Large Quantitative Models (LQMs) to revolutionize drug and materials discovery by pioneering state-of-the-art deep learning architectures that directly impact life sciences innovation.
- • Your work will bridge cutting-edge research and commercial product development, transforming scientific breakthroughs into scalable, production-ready capabilities within SandboxAQ’s software suite, thereby accelerating the creation of novel molecules and medicines for global health and industrial challenges.
- • You will join a multidisciplinary, high-impact R&D team composed of experts in AI, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and engineering, operating within a culture that values creativity, scientific rigor, entrepreneurial ownership, and collaborative problem-solving to tackle some of the world’s most complex challenges.
- • In this role, you will drive technical vision and scientific excellence by mentoring junior researchers, shaping internal and external research strategy, publishing high-impact work in top-tier venues, and establishing SandboxAQ as a leader in AI-driven biopharma innovation.

🎯 Requirements
- • PhD in Computer Science, Computational Chemistry, or a closely related field, with specialized knowledge in structure-based deep learning for affinity or co-folding modeling.
- • Minimum of 4 years of post-PhD experience, including substantial industry experience, demonstrating a proven ability to deliver scientific impact that translates into tangible product outcomes.
- • Hands-on expertise in developing and deploying leading-edge co-folding and/or affinity prediction models from proof of concept through to productionized workflows using Python and modern ML frameworks such as PyTorch or JAX at scale.
