- • As a Staff Software Engineer on Workato's Engine team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the core recipe execution engine that powers Workato's enterprise automation platform, enabling businesses to connect data, processes, applications, and experiences at scale.
- • Day to day, you will build, extend, troubleshoot, and fix complex heterogeneous GoLang and Ruby applications, improve the execution engine for custom third-party code, write testable and efficient code, integrate data storage solutions like Postgres, S3, DynamoDB, Kafka, and ClickHouse, contribute across the full development lifecycle, conduct code reviews, provide technical leadership, collaborate with cross-functional teams, evaluate system improvements, identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs, maintain code quality and automation, and explore emerging technologies such as Rust and WebAssembly.

- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in distributed systems, scalable backend architectures, polyglot programming (Ruby, GoLang, Rust), cloud-native technologies, and system optimization, while gaining leadership experience and contributing to high-impact infrastructure that drives customer success and innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • Strong experience in building scalable distributed backend applications (7+ years)
- • Excellent understanding of distributed systems patterns and algorithms
- • Proficiency in multiple programming languages, with primary focus on Ruby and GoLang, and experience with at least two languages
- • Solid grasp of web application building blocks including databases, load balancers, message brokers, caching, and monitoring
- • Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, Terraform, and ArgoCD
