- • As a Structures Material & Process Engineer II at ALTEN Technology USA, you will play a critical role in supporting advanced manufacturing operations for aerospace, defense, and high-performance engineering projects, ensuring material integrity and process reliability from design through production.
- • Day to day, you will work directly on the manufacturing shop floor supporting engineers and technicians, write test plans using Design of Experiment methodologies, evaluate material property data for B-basis allowables, author and update material and process specifications, troubleshoot non-conformances with Quality teams, and provide technical support to customers while reviewing designs for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
- • You will join ALTEN Technology USA, a U.S.-based arm of the global ALTEN Group with over 57,000 engineers across 30 countries, specializing in delivering end-to-end engineering solutions for clients in aerospace, medical devices, robotics, automotive, EVs, rail, and more—backed by mentorship, career development, and a culture that values employee growth and innovation.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in advanced composite materials and manufacturing processes, gain hands-on experience with DoD and aerospace material specifications, strengthen your technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute directly to mission-critical programs while building a foundation for long-term growth in materials engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or equivalent experience and registration
- • 2-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in advanced composite manufacturing for aircraft or spacecraft
- • Experience with out-of-autoclave, autoclave, wet lay, filament winding, and primary structure bonding processes, including thermosetting resins and high-temperature materials
- • Strong understanding of ASTM test methods and military/commercial M&P specifications
- • Proficiency with CAD/CAE software, including basic knowledge of CATIA and/or SolidWorks
- • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain or hold a DoD SECRET clearance
