- • Lead the engineering squad delivering mission-critical features for defense customers on the Orcrist Intelligence Platform, a Kubernetes-based data intelligence system used in defense, law-enforcement, and enterprise missions.
- • Architect and ship sensor integrations, workflows, and real-time dashboards; run deployments and incident response on-site; harden air-gapped installations using GitOps, registry mirrors, audit logging, and zero-trust patterns.
- • Mentor forward-deployed engineers, partner with Product and Security on roadmaps, and document accreditation evidence (BSI/NATO) and post-mission lessons.
- • Work with a modern stack including TypeScript, Python, Kafka, Temporal, Kubernetes, Vault, and OpenSearch in a remote-first environment with regular Berlin meetups and field deployments.
- • Contribute to high-impact missions with direct operator influence, gaining expertise in secure, regulated systems and forward-deployed engineering in defense environments.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years of engineering experience with leadership in mission-critical or regulated products.
- • Hands-on expertise in TypeScript/Node.js, React/Next.js, Python services, and Kubernetes.
- • Strong background in security (Keycloak/OPA, Vault, mTLS) and observability (OpenTelemetry/Prometheus).
- • Comfortable operating in defense environments, including approximately 30% travel and on-call responsibilities.
- • EU/NATO citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
- • German language proficiency at C1+ level.
