📋 Description
- • As a Machine Learning Engineer at Match Group's Eureka division, you will work on core recommendation, search, natural language processing, and image processing systems that power Japan's largest dating app, Pairs, which has over 25 million registered users and has facilitated over 700,000 successful matches.
- • You will improve recommendation and search functionality through embeddings, vector search, and candidate generation/retrieval, enabling product teams to leverage ML outputs effectively and continuously improve product KPIs.
- • You will collaborate with product teams from early planning, defining objectives and success metrics, conducting hands-on analysis and proof of concepts, building prototypes, and aligning stakeholders through clear communication and documentation.
- • You will design and implement ML-driven systems while balancing trade-offs in model performance (accuracy, latency), cost, and development lead time, using modern tools and infrastructure across AWS and Google Cloud.
- • You will gain hands-on experience with large-scale real-world data, contribute to socially impactful products addressing declining birth rates and relationship formation, and work in a high-velocity, data-driven environment with global teams.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proficiency in Python and/or Go for backend development and machine learning implementation
- • Experience with vector search, embeddings, and retrieval systems (e.g., FAISS, Annoy, or similar) for recommendation and search applications
- • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud) and data processing tools such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or Dataproc
- • Familiarity with MLOps tools and practices including model tracking, experimentation (e.g., Weights & Biases, MLflow), and CI/CD for ML systems
- • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, particularly in ranking, retrieval, and recommendation systems
- • Ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams, communicate technical concepts clearly, and drive alignment across stakeholders
