As a .NET Developer you will own the full SDLC—from sourcing complex project requirements in multi-asset trading environments to shipping production-ready code that processes millions of transactions daily.
• • Architect and deliver green-field features on .NET 6/7 and .NET Core, leveraging WPF for ultra-low-latency desktop front-ends and gRPC/REST micro-services for cloud-native back-ends. Your modules will integrate with high-throughput message buses, real-time pricing engines, and regulatory-reporting pipelines that must never lose a tick.
• • Champion clean-code practices: write unit, integration, and performance tests inside an automated CI/CD ecosystem (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) where every commit triggers thousands of assertions, security scans, and container builds. Expect 80%+ code-coverage gates and zero-downtime blue-green deployments.
• • Optimize multi-threaded C# services that run 24×5 on Windows Server clusters; profile CPU, memory, and lock contention until sub-millisecond latency budgets are met. You will inter-op with Win32 APIs, C++ quant libraries, and GPU kernels to squeeze every last micro-second from the stack.
• • Collaborate with globally distributed product managers, UX designers, and quantitative analysts across Pisa, Milan, Rome, London, New York, and Singapore. Daily stand-ups follow Scrum or Kanban; quarterly PI-planning sessions set OKRs that directly influence the roadmap of a € multi-billion product portfolio.
• • Contribute to reusable UI component libraries that unify look-and-feel across dozens of applications. Apply MVVM, dependency injection, and reactive extensions to create pixel-perfect screens that traders can customize without recompilation.
• • Mentor junior developers through pair-programming, brown-bag sessions, and code-dojo events. Publish internal tech blogs, file patents, and represent ION at European .NET conferences—we will sponsor your talks.
• • Ensure regulatory compliance—MiFID II, EMIR, Dodd-Frank—by embedding audit trails, encryption, and role-based access controls into every layer. Your code will be reviewed by security champions and scanned by static-analysis tools before it ever reaches a production subnet.
• • Participate in a rotating 24×7 “follow-the-sun” support rota backed by SRE teams; when markets open in Tokyo you sleep peacefully because your resilient design auto-heals. Post-incident reviews are blameless and feed straight back into the backlog.
• • Grow vertically into roles such as Lead Developer, Solution Architect, or Product Owner, or horizontally into quantitative development, cloud architecture, or management. We maintain a transparent competency matrix and fund M.Sc./Ph.D. research that aligns with business goals.

� Requirements

• • 3+ years professional C# development on .NET Framework 4.8, .NET Core 3.1+, or .NET 6/7—including WPF, WinForms, or ASP.NET Core Web APIs
• • Solid grasp of object-oriented design patterns, SOLID principles, and concurrent programming (async/await, TPL, locks, concurrent collections)
• • Experience with service-oriented or micro-service architectures, REST/gRPC, message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka, MSMQ), and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• • Proficiency in Windows development tools: Visual Studio 2022, Win32 API, COM inter-op, and debugging with WinDbg or PerfView
• • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field; candidates currently enrolled in advanced degrees are welcome
• • Excellent written and spoken English (B2+); Italian language is a plus but not mandatory. Valid EU work permit or Italian citizenship required
