📋 Description

• • As a (.NET) Software Engineer Senior Consultant II at The Allstate Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in building and enhancing scalable, customer-centric insurance software solutions using modern .NET technologies and cloud-native practices, directly contributing to the delivery of reliable protection products for millions of customers.
• • You will own the full software development lifecycle—from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and support—ensuring high-quality, maintainable code that aligns with business goals and user needs through agile, collaborative, and XP-driven practices.
• • You will work within National General, a specialty personal lines insurance innovator backed by The Allstate Corporation’s resources and innovation engine, operating in a remote-first environment across the USA with a focus on technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
• • Providing architectural and design input for product features, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems using the simplest appropriate technology and design.
• • Practicing daily paired programming and test-driven development (TDD) to write clean, reliable, and well-tested C# and .NET code that supports continuous integration and delivery.
• • Participating in agile ceremonies including iteration planning, daily standups (site, cross-site, and product team), retrospectives, and backlog refinement to ensure alignment and continuous process improvement.
• • Serving as a domain expert on at least one technology stack (e.g., Azure, AKS, Kubernetes, Web Services) and demonstrating leadership by owning end-to-end delivery of backend services or frontend applications.
• • Establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools to enable automated testing, continuous delivery, and deployment across environments.
• • Coaching and mentoring junior engineers in .NET best practices, XP methodologies, cloud concepts, and software craftsmanship to elevate team capability.
• • Supporting software products in user environments by diagnosing issues, applying fixes, and ensuring stability and performance in production.
• • Contributing to strategic discussions that keep customer needs at the forefront of product decisions, balancing technical feasibility with business value.
• • You will grow technically and professionally by deepening expertise in .NET ecosystem technologies (C#, ASP.NET, Web APIs), cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AKS, Kubernetes), DevOps practices, and domain knowledge in insurance technology.
