đź“‹ Description
- • Are you passionate about the cloud and eager to shape the future of IT landscapes for businesses? Public Cloud Group (PCG) is a leading force in modernizing, securing, and future-proofing IT environments through cloud adoption. With nearly 500 cloud experts across 21 European locations, we are a rapidly growing organization seeking talented individuals to join our dynamic team. We are specifically looking for an experienced (Senior) Azure Cloud Engineer (m/f/d) to join our dedicated Azure team within the DACH region, contributing to our continued expansion.
- • As a (Senior) Azure Cloud Engineer at PCG, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud solutions for our diverse clientele. You will be instrumental in transforming complex IT infrastructures into robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a highly skilled team, leverage the latest cloud technologies, and make a significant impact on our clients' digital transformation journeys. You will be an integral part of a 15-person team, bringing your specialized Azure expertise to the DACH market and collaborating with colleagues who share your passion for all things cloud.
- • Your primary responsibilities will revolve around Kubernetes, a technology we consider core to modern cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) clusters, from initial conception and design to implementation, configuration, and ongoing operation. This includes meticulous cluster design, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and robust security configurations. You will delve deep into the intricacies of AKS, ensuring it meets the highest standards of reliability and efficiency for our clients.
- • A significant aspect of your role will involve Infrastructure as Code (IaC). You will be tasked with developing, maintaining, and enhancing IaC solutions, with a strong emphasis on Terraform. Your expertise will be crucial in designing reusable Terraform modules, promoting consistency, and enabling efficient management of cloud resources. This approach ensures that our infrastructure is not only automated but also easily maintainable and scalable, adhering to best practices in cloud resource management.
- • Automation and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) are central to our operational philosophy. You will be responsible for building and refining modern CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions. Embracing GitOps principles and a "shift-left" security and quality approach, you will streamline the deployment process, enhance collaboration, and ensure rapid, reliable delivery of applications and infrastructure updates. This focus on automation will significantly improve efficiency and reduce the potential for human error.
- • Containerization is another key area of your expertise. You will take ownership of containerizing applications using Docker, creating and managing Helm charts for efficient deployment and management of containerized workloads within Kubernetes environments. Your ability to effectively package and deploy applications will be critical to leveraging the full potential of container orchestration.
- • Security and performance optimization are paramount. You will implement security-by-design principles throughout the cloud infrastructure, ensuring that security is integrated from the outset rather than being an afterthought. Furthermore, you will continuously monitor and optimize the performance of AKS clusters and overall cloud workloads, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness for our clients. This proactive approach to security and performance is fundamental to delivering high-quality cloud solutions.
- • Beyond these technical responsibilities, you will also engage in client-facing activities. You will have the opportunity to consult with clients, leveraging your deep understanding of Azure and cloud technologies to guide them through their cloud journey. Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively in German will be essential in building strong client relationships and ensuring successful project outcomes. You will be a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate the complexities of cloud adoption and maximize their return on investment.
- • This role offers a high degree of autonomy and flexibility. You will have the freedom to choose your preferred working environment and equipment, whether it's a Mac or Windows, working remotely from home or from one of our offices in Austria (Linz & Vienna). We believe in empowering our employees to work in a way that maximizes their productivity and well-being. You will be part of a team that values collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning, all within a supportive and innovative company culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience as an Azure Cloud Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong focus on Azure services.
- • Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), including cluster design and security configurations.
- • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, particularly Terraform, including module design and reusability.
- • Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker and experience with Helm charts.
- • Solid understanding and practical application of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, with knowledge of GitOps and "shift-left" methodologies.
- • Familiarity with scripting and automation languages such as PowerShell, Python, or HCL.
- • Excellent communication skills in German, with the ability to effectively consult and advise clients.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Unparalleled flexibility: Choose your ideal work setup – remote within Germany, hybrid, or from our offices in Austria (Linz & Vienna).
- • Workation opportunities: Up to 30 days per year to combine work with exploring new destinations.
- • Generous vacation allowance: 25 days of paid time off to recharge.
- • Your hardware, your choice: Select your preferred operating system – Mac, Windows, or Linux.
- • Continuous professional development: Access to training, labs, and Azure certifications to enhance your cloud expertise.
- • Regular feedback and growth: Structured development and salary reviews to ensure clarity on your career progression.
- • Comprehensive benefits package: Including mobility options (e.g., ÖBB Vorteilscard, Klimaticket), Wellpass, bike leasing, company pension plan, childcare subsidies, and more.
