AlphaSense, a leader in AI-driven market intelligence, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Business Applications Security Engineer to join our dynamic Corporate Technology team in Pune. This is a unique opportunity to architect and implement a comprehensive security strategy for our entire business application ecosystem, moving beyond a reactive stance to establish a proactive, centralized, and hardened security posture.
- • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in transforming how AlphaSense secures its critical business applications. You will own the security landscape for over 200 diverse applications, encompassing SaaS, cloud, and on-premise solutions. This is not a role for someone seeking to maintain existing systems; it's a chance to define and build the future of application security within a rapidly growing, innovative company. You will be the driving force behind establishing security standards, embedding security best practices into every stage of the application lifecycle, and fostering a security-first culture across the organization.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to design and implement a comprehensive business application security program where one may not currently exist in a formalized capacity. This involves taking full ownership of the security posture across a wide array of business tools, from widely used platforms like Salesforce and Workday to specialized departmental applications. You will be tasked with defining what constitutes a secure business application and ensuring that every tool adopted by AlphaSense meets these stringent criteria.
- • A key aspect of this role is the 'shift-left' security approach. You will proactively integrate security considerations into the procurement, integration, and ongoing lifecycle management processes for all business applications. This means working closely with procurement teams, IT, and business units to ensure security is a primary factor from the initial selection of a tool through its eventual decommissioning.
- • You will act as a crucial bridge between technical security requirements and business needs. This involves partnering with stakeholders across various departments, including IT, Engineering, Finance, HR, Sales, and Marketing. Your ability to communicate complex security concepts in an understandable manner will be essential in driving fundamental changes in how the organization perceives and manages application security.
- • Key responsibilities include system administration focused on designing and scaling user access through robust role-based access controls (RBAC) wherever feasible. You will also provide escalation support for technical troubleshooting related to application access and role-based issues, ensuring seamless user experiences while maintaining security integrity.
- • For application onboarding, you will conduct thorough requirements discovery and analysis with key stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on login protocols and role access management. This ensures that new applications are integrated securely from the outset.
- • You will play a significant role in Identity Lifecycle Management, designing and implementing automation solutions to ensure the timely and accurate granting or revocation of access based on user roles and employment status.
- • Integration management is another critical area, where you will oversee API connections and integrations between various business applications within AlphaSense's technology stack, ensuring secure and efficient data flow.
- • Continuous process improvement and automation will be central to your work. You will identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention in security-related tasks.
- • Ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with all relevant security standards and regulations will be paramount. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior teammates, sharing your expertise and fostering best practices within the team.

🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience in Application Security or a related role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing security programs.
- • Expertise in identity and access management (IAM) solutions, particularly Okta, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365.
- • Strong understanding and practical experience with SAML, OAuth, and SCIM protocols for secure authentication and authorization.
- • Proficiency with automation platforms like Okta Workflows or similar tools for streamlining access management processes.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively bridge technical and non-technical stakeholder conversations.
- • Professional certifications such as CISSP are a strong plus.
