Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Serve as the primary technical authority for integration architecture connecting MeridianLink’s internal products and external client systems, setting standards that engineering teams across Consumer, Portal/Access, and adjacent product lines follow without supervision.
- • Define and own the reference architecture for the Platform Integrations layer, including API standards, event-driven patterns, shared service design, and third-party integration frameworks.
- • Drive critical architecture and design decisions that span multiple teams or entire product areas, evaluating technology trade-offs at scale rather than for isolated problems.
- • Establish and document API contracts, data exchange standards, and onboarding patterns to enable product teams to build reliably on shared integration infrastructure.
- • Lead technical due diligence and design reviews for new integration requirements, especially those crossing product lines or involving external partners.
- • Contribute directly to the implementation of integration services, APIs, and shared libraries used across the engineering organization.
- • Build and maintain tooling that accelerates and improves the reliability of integration development for other engineers, including AI-assisted development workflows.
- • Validate and enhance AI-assisted development practices within the integrations domain by creating reusable patterns, templates, and automation.
- • Author RFCs and ADRs that capture integration design decisions with long-term clarity and context, ensuring institutional knowledge is preserved and accessible.
- • Establish and maintain a centralized integration knowledge base with runbooks, onboarding guides, and comprehensive API documentation.
- • Participate in architecture reviews for integration-adjacent work across product and platform teams to identify and resolve design flaws before implementation.
- • Drive adoption of shared integration infrastructure by setting governance processes and ensuring decisions are made through appropriate channels.
- • Evaluate build-vs-buy decisions for integration infrastructure components such as API gateways, event streaming platforms, and messaging systems.
- • Design resilient, observable integration systems that degrade gracefully and recover predictably under failure conditions.
- • Develop deep expertise in MeridianLink’s product ecosystem, including data flows and dependencies across LOS, Account Opening, TazWorks, and partner systems.
- • Anticipate how product-level changes impact integration surfaces and proactively flag risks before features ship.
- • Build strong relationships with product and engineering stakeholders across teams to stay ahead of emerging integration needs.
- • Mentor Senior engineers toward Staff-level scope by assigning stretch problems and opportunities, not just providing guidance on current tasks.
- • Partner with Engineering Managers and Product leadership to align technical integration strategy with delivery goals and business outcomes.
- • Own the design and maintenance of technical knowledge infrastructure — including RFCs, ADRs, runbooks, and onboarding paths — to reduce escalations and enable autonomous team operation.
- • Operate as a senior individual contributor without formal management authority, providing day-to-day technical direction to one or more scrum teams.
- • Step into ambiguous, high-stakes technical problems across teams and drive them to resolution without being asked.
- • Maintain a high bar in code and design reviews across team boundaries to raise overall engineering quality.
- • Deploy and operate integration workloads on cloud platforms, with AWS strongly preferred.
- • Apply strong proficiency in at least one backend language used in integration contexts (Java, Python, C#, or similar).
- • Implement enterprise messaging patterns, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures in production-grade systems.
- • Manage API lifecycle components including versioning, contract enforcement, and deprecation strategies using API gateway technologies.
