📋 Description

• As a Staff Software Engineer at Cision, you will be a pivotal member of our global backend platform team, driving the development and enhancement of critical services, processes, and components that power our innovative communication solutions.
• You will collaborate extensively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, Technology, and Data Science, to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable, and efficient technical solutions.
• A core aspect of your role will involve taking a lead in code reviews, providing constructive and insightful feedback to your peers. This will foster a culture of high-quality code, promote best practices, and ensure the maintainability and reliability of our codebase.
• You will actively participate in the evaluation of new technologies and architectural patterns, making informed recommendations that align with Cision's strategic product roadmap and long-term technical vision.
• This senior position offers a significant opportunity for mentorship. You will guide and support engineers at various career stages, sharing your deep expertise in areas such as code maintainability, performance optimization, system reliability, observability, security best practices, and functional excellence.
• With a comprehensive understanding of our technology stack and the Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC), you will be instrumental in ensuring project success and enhancing overall team productivity.
• You may be called upon to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the engineering organization, offering your specialized knowledge and insights to assist other teams and stakeholders in navigating complex technical challenges.
• You will be responsible for developing and owning solutions that deliver tangible value across our systems, while also diligently managing and mitigating technical debt to ensure long-term system health.
• A key responsibility is to foster a 'Test First' mentality, championing the importance of quality at the code level and embedding robust testing strategies into the development process.
• You will play a crucial role in translating intricate product requirements into clear, actionable technical tasks, ensuring that development efforts are precisely aligned with business objectives.
• Staying abreast of emerging technology trends and Cision's evolving product roadmaps will be essential, enabling you to provide strategic guidance and foresight to the development team.
• You will actively support and facilitate cross-functional business processes, building strong bridges of communication and collaboration between engineering and other departments.
• Working alongside other senior-level stakeholders, you will ensure adherence to established best practices, promote cross-team synergy, and maintain consistency in development processes across the organization.
• Your contributions will extend to nurturing a culture of continuous learning and improvement, where knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving are paramount.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of experience in Information Technology and solution delivery, with a strong focus on backend development.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET 8+.
• Solid experience with SQL databases and Git version control.
• Experience with RESTful web services, messaging & queuing systems, and Docker.
• Demonstrated experience in microservice architecture and data architecture principles.
• Strong understanding of unit testing principles and practices.
