• • In this pivotal Tech Lead, SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) role, you will be instrumental in shaping and owning the comprehensive test automation architecture and the overarching quality engineering strategy for our EMR and associated platform services. This is a highly hands-on technical leadership position, demanding expertise in designing sophisticated, scalable automation frameworks. You will play a crucial role in embedding quality practices directly into our platform and product development teams, while also providing invaluable mentorship to SDETs and software engineers across our geographically dispersed teams. This opportunity is perfectly suited for a seasoned engineer who possesses a strong aptitude for writing production-quality code, a systems-thinking mindset, and a profound dedication to treating quality as a fundamental engineering imperative.
• • **Key Responsibilities - Test Automation & Framework Engineering:**
• • Architect, develop, and meticulously maintain robust, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks. This will primarily involve leveraging Playwright, complemented by other essential tools, to cover a wide spectrum of testing needs, including:
• • Comprehensive API and service-level testing to ensure backend functionality.
• • Rigorous integration and contract testing to validate inter-service communication.
• • End-to-end workflow testing across the entire EMR and platform services ecosystem.
• • Ensure that all developed automation frameworks are code-driven, exceptionally reliable, and designed for extensibility, with a strong emphasis on minimizing test flakiness.
• • Drive the achievement of high automation coverage targets, striking an optimal balance between rapid execution speed and long-term maintainability.
• • **Key Responsibilities - Quality Engineering Strategy:**
• • Define, implement, and champion the quality engineering strategy across all platform and product teams, fostering a unified approach to quality.
• • Establish clear and consistent testing standards, architectural patterns, and best practices that are intrinsically aligned with our system architecture and development methodologies.
• • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Platform teams to proactively enhance testability at the design phase, promoting a 'testability by design' philosophy.
• • **Key Responsibilities - AI-Assisted Test Engineering:**
• • Actively integrate and utilize cutting-edge AI-assisted development and testing tools, with a preference for Claude Code, to significantly accelerate the pace of test development, refactoring, and optimization.
• • Proactively identify and explore opportunities to apply AI technologies for more intelligent regression analysis, predictive defect identification, and streamlined root cause analysis.
• • **Key Responsibilities - Technical Leadership & Near-Shore Collaboration:**
• • Serve as the primary technical authority and guiding force for SDET practices, providing expert mentorship to SDETs and influencing the quality mindset of software engineers.
• • Define, monitor, and report on key quality metrics, such as automation coverage, defect leakage rates, and overall release readiness.
• • Offer critical technical guidance, conduct thorough code reviews for automation assets with the same diligence applied to production code, and foster seamless collaboration with our near-shore development and QA teams.
• • Establish and maintain clear workflows, defined expectations, and stringent quality standards to ensure highly effective and efficient collaboration across different time zones.
• • **Key Responsibilities - Performance, Data & Compliance Testing:**
• • Spearhead performance, load, and scalability testing initiatives for critical application workflows to ensure optimal system behavior under stress.
• • Ensure that all testing strategies and methodologies are fully compliant with stringent healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, alongside broader security and data privacy requirements.
