- • The 3P Architect role at OpenAI is critical for defining scalable, high-performance system architectures that support advanced AI workloads, ensuring infrastructure meets performance, cost, and efficiency goals.
- • Day to day, the person will define rack- and cluster-level reference designs, translate workload requirements into system specifications, collaborate with performance modeling teams, align internal and external stakeholders, identify technology gaps, drive vendor development, influence roadmaps, track emerging technologies, lead proof-of-concept efforts, and act as the key interface between OpenAI and partners.
- • The Hardware organization at OpenAI develops end-to-end AI infrastructure solutions from silicon to system integration, working closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver next-generation systems tailored to AI demands.
- • In this role, the person can deepen expertise in large-scale infrastructure architecture, gain influence over vendor roadmaps, lead cross-functional and cross-organizational initiatives, and shape the future of AI-optimized hardware systems at a leading AI research company.
