- • As an Abuse Hotline Counselor at Seven Counties Services Inc., you will play a critical role in safeguarding vulnerable populations by providing immediate, compassionate, and professional telephone-based services to individuals reporting alleged neglect, abuse, and exploitation of children and adults within the State of Kentucky.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to receive and meticulously document incoming reports via telephone, ensuring that all essential information is gathered accurately and efficiently to initiate the reporting process through the State Web Portal.
- • You will be entrusted with the crucial task of monitoring the status of reported situations by maintaining consistent case follow-up with State Child and Adult Protective Services workers, acting as a vital link in the protection chain.
- • A key aspect of this role involves acquiring and honing the necessary knowledge and skills to conduct effective interviews with callers, adeptly gathering the information required to accept Abuse Line Intake referrals.
- • You will be responsible for the diligent documentation and maintenance of accurate, thorough, and confidential records of all telephone interventions conducted during your work shift, adhering to strict data integrity standards.
- • A critical component of your duties will include screening callers for potential suicide or homicide risk, and when criteria are met, seamlessly connecting these individuals to Crisis Intervention Counselors for immediate support.
- • Active participation in staff meetings, mandatory CIC and SCS ongoing training events, and the successful completion of all Abuse Line training mandated by the State Child and Adult Protective Services are essential for your professional development and the effective execution of your duties.
- • You will serve as a valuable resource for callers, providing essential educational information and appropriate resource referrals for individuals seeking assistance with issues pertaining to child and/or adult abuse.
- • Maintaining the utmost confidentiality of all information contained within abuse line reports is paramount, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all CIC and SCS ethical codes of conduct.
- • Presenting a consistently professional demeanor in all interactions with internal and external customers, including callers, colleagues, and state agency representatives, is a fundamental expectation of this role.
- • This position requires the ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including 3rd shift, weekends, and holidays, as these are inherent requirements for all positions within the Abuse Hotline team.
- • You will leverage technology to complete web-based reports, demonstrating proficiency in using digital tools to manage and submit case information.
- • The role demands the ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment, particularly in stressful or unusual situations, ensuring caller safety and appropriate action.
- • Excellent time-management skills are crucial for effectively managing call volume and follow-up tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
