📋 Description

• Actuarial & Pricing Expert for AI Research Project – a unique role applying deep actuarial expertise to shape how frontier AI models reason through complex insurance problems, directly influencing the development of next-generation AI systems in partnership with leading foundational AI labs.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing realistic actuarial and pricing tasks (rate adequacy studies, reserve reviews, profitability analyses), writing evaluation rubrics that reflect experienced actuarial reasoning, reviewing AI-generated models for incorrect assumptions or methodologies, building benchmark actuarial analyses, and clearly communicating judgments and rationale in writing.
• Aptura Inc. operates at the intersection of institutional finance and AI, working with top AI labs to embed real-world financial expertise into model development; founded by ex-Lazard and Partners Group professionals, the company is remote-first with hubs in London and San Francisco.
• In this role, you will advance the frontier of AI applications in insurance, refine how AI interprets actuarial judgment, contribute to benchmark standards for model evaluation, and gain direct influence over how AI systems learn to reason under uncertainty — positioning you at the forefront of AI and actuarial science convergence.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years of experience in P&C actuarial pricing, reserving, or portfolio analytics at an insurer, reinsurer, consultancy, or brokerage
• Proven experience owning pricing studies, reserve reviews, or profitability analyses that informed business decisions
• Ability to explain actuarial assumptions and judgment clearly enough to teach the reasoning, not just the outcome
• ACAS, FCAS, FIA, Fellow of the IFoA, or equivalent (preferred, not required)
