Your primary mission will be to serve as a trusted technical partner, guiding engineering teams through the integration of OpenAI's cutting-edge Codex capabilities into their entire software development lifecycle. This role is designed for individuals who are not only deeply technical but also possess a creative drive and a passion for pushing the boundaries of developer productivity. You will work directly with a diverse range of customers, from agile digital-native startups to large global enterprises, acting as a bridge between their existing workflows and the transformative potential of AI.
• • You will be instrumental in designing, validating, and scaling sophisticated AI-driven development workflows. A key aspect of your role will involve leveraging Codex itself to prototype, build, and demonstrate the very integrations, automations, and solutions that customers will ultimately adopt. This hands-on approach ensures you have a deep, practical understanding of the tools you are deploying and can effectively communicate their value.
• • This position is inherently cross-functional, requiring you to blend expertise in technical architecture, strategic product thinking, and customer-facing leadership. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product Management, Applied Engineering, and the broader Codex organization. Your insights will be crucial in advocating for customer needs, influencing product direction, and accelerating the successful deployment of intelligent coding systems within some of the world's most influential companies.
• • Your responsibilities will include serving as the primary technical subject matter expert on OpenAI Codex for a dedicated portfolio of customers. This involves embedding deeply within their organizations to empower their engineering teams and architect bespoke coding workflows that align with their specific challenges and goals.
• • You will partner directly with customers to design and implement AI-enhanced development workflows, overseeing the entire process from rapid prototyping to scalable production rollout. This requires a strategic understanding of how AI can augment traditional development practices.
• • A significant part of your role will be to build high-quality demos, reference implementations, and workflow automations. Critically, you will use Codex as a core part of your own development process, demonstrating its power and efficiency firsthand.
• • You will lead impactful, large-format workshops, technical deep dives, and hands-on enablement sessions. These sessions are designed to equip engineering organizations with the knowledge and skills to adopt AI coding tools effectively, safely, and responsibly.
• • To foster broader community adoption and accelerate developer progress, you will contribute valuable technical content. This includes creating examples, guides, patterns, and best practices for the OpenAI Cookbook, sharing your expertise with a global audience.
• • You will be responsible for gathering high-fidelity product insights directly from real-world customer deployments. These insights will be translated into clear, actionable product proposals and constructive model feedback for internal product and engineering teams, directly shaping the future of Codex.
• • You will influence customer strategy and decision-making by articulating how AI coding tools can be strategically integrated into their Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), technical roadmaps, and overall organizational workflows.
• • Acting as a trusted advisor, you will provide guidance on solution architecture, operational readiness, model configuration, security considerations, and the adoption of best practices for AI integration.
• • You will thrive in this role if you possess a strong foundation in technical consulting, post-sales engineering, solutions architecture, or a similar customer-facing technical role, with at least 5 years of experience.
• • You are an active and proficient user of AI coding tools, having deeply customized your own developer workflow and possessing a clear perspective on what enhances engineer productivity.
• • You enjoy the process of building scrappy, high-signal demos, integrations, and prototypes that effectively showcase the capabilities of Codex, often using the tool itself to expedite your own development.
• • You have proven experience delivering large, high-impact workshops or technical training to engineering teams, with a knack for crafting sessions that are engaging, hands-on, and focused on achieving tangible outcomes.
• • You have a history of contributing technical guides, patterns, or examples publicly and demonstrate a commitment to clarity, effective pedagogy, and positive community impact.
• • You excel at communicating complex technical concepts in clear, persuasive written and verbal forms, particularly when assisting customers in making strategic decisions about AI application.
