📋 Description

• The AI Deployment Engineer, Cyber role at OpenAI involves partnering with enterprise customers to safely and effectively deploy AI technologies in cybersecurity workflows, serving as a trusted technical advisor to security leaders and practitioners.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include leading discovery across AppSec, DevSecOps, SOC/IR, and cloud security use cases; building customer-facing demos and proofs of concept using OpenAI APIs and agents; scoping pilots with clear success criteria; advising on safe implementation patterns; and translating technical details for both executive and practitioner audiences.
• The role sits within the AI Deployment Engineering team, which works cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, Research, and Security to turn customer needs into reusable field assets and product feedback, based in San Francisco with relocation support available.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in AI-enabled security applications, influence product direction through field feedback, and grow as a technical leader at the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, helping shape how enterprises adopt frontier models safely.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of technical consulting, solutions engineering, security architecture, or equivalent customer-facing technical experience
• Strong cybersecurity domain expertise in areas such as application security, cloud security, identity, vulnerability management, or incident response
• Hands-on experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs, Python or JavaScript, agents, scripts, CLIs, GitHub workflows, CI/CD systems, or common security tooling
• Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs, security executives, and highly technical practitioners
• Comfort scoping pilots from ambiguous customer pain, including defining success metrics, data requirements, and decision gates
