• In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in driving continuous innovation within our AI Labs. This involves actively researching the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, exploring emerging technologies, and prototyping novel concepts through proof-of-concepts (PoCs). Your curiosity and drive for discovery will be key to keeping Abacum at the leading edge of AI development. You will be expected to stay abreast of the rapidly evolving AI landscape, identifying opportunities to leverage new techniques and models to solve complex business challenges.
• A core responsibility will be the design and development of sophisticated, multi-provider LLM workflows. You will architect and build autonomous agents capable of advanced reasoning, independent decision-making, and complex task execution. This includes developing robust systems that can seamlessly interact with multiple Large Language Models, leveraging their unique strengths to achieve optimal outcomes. The focus will be on creating agents that are not just functional but intelligent, adaptable, and capable of handling intricate financial planning scenarios.
• You will play a crucial role in building Model Context Protocol (MCP) agents. These agents are designed to act as intelligent intermediaries, bridging the gap between the powerful capabilities of LLMs and our proprietary data ecosystems. This involves understanding and effectively managing how LLMs access, process, and utilize the rich, domain-specific data within Abacum, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and security. The development of these agents will be critical for unlocking the full potential of AI within our platform.
• A significant part of your work will involve integrating these advanced AI capabilities directly into our existing product workflows. Your efforts will automate and significantly enhance core functionalities, providing our users with more intelligent, efficient, and insightful tools. This integration requires a deep understanding of our product architecture and a creative approach to applying AI to solve real-world finance problems, ultimately delivering tangible value to our customers.
• Performance optimization will be a continuous focus. You will be responsible for fine-tuning AI agents, conducting rigorous evaluations, optimizing prompts for maximum effectiveness, and designing efficient system architectures, particularly through the implementation and refinement of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines. This ensures our AI solutions are not only powerful but also performant, scalable, and cost-effective.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on Python development.
• Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), including their architecture, capabilities, and practical applications in complex workflows.
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain and LangGraph, and proficiency in prompt engineering, chain-of-thought reasoning, context engineering, and token optimization techniques.
• Proven experience in designing, building, and deploying AI-powered applications, with a focus on autonomous agents and LLM workflows.
