- • As an AI Engineer at Distyl Inc., you will design and deploy production-grade AI systems powered by large language models (LLMs) for Fortune 500 companies, directly impacting mission-critical operations in telecom, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, and global social organizations. Your work will transform complex workflows into scalable, reliable AI solutions that operate at enterprise scale, contributing to Distyl’s 100% production deployment success rate and profitable business model.
- • Day to day, you will build and ship real-world AI applications including intelligent agents and full-stack AI products using LLMs, prompt engineering, agent workflows, and tool use; collaborate closely with enterprise stakeholders to understand complex problems and translate them into impactful AI solutions; design scalable architectures for production AI systems balancing performance, reliability, cost, and maintainability; contribute to Distillery, Distyl’s internal LLM application platform, by building reusable infrastructure, tools, and workflows; develop rigorous evaluation frameworks measuring model performance across accuracy, latency, cost, reliability, and safety; ensure systems meet high standards for observability, reliability, security, and maintainability; and improve development workflows, evaluation practices, and deployment strategies to raise the engineering bar across customer engagements.
- • You will join a newly established London office of Distyl, an applied AI technology company backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, Coatue, DST Global, and board members of 20+ F500 companies. The team is mission-driven, fast-moving, and focused on rearchitecting critical operations for the frontier of AI, where engineers help shape technical direction across major customer engagements and guide enterprise teams through AI adoption and deployment.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in production-grade LLM systems, gain hands-on experience deploying AI in regulated enterprise environments, and develop leadership in system architecture and evaluation practices. You will own high-impact projects from prototype to production, work with state-of-the-art models and tools, and grow your ability to balance technical excellence with real-world business impact — positioning you at the forefront of applied AI engineering.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript
- • Experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications or AI agents in production
- • Experience with modern LLM tooling such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, Guardrails, MCP, or agent frameworks
- • Experience implementing RAG pipelines, tool use, or multi-step AI workflows
- • Strong understanding of AI system evaluation, debugging, and observability
- • Experience building reliable production systems with modern DevOps practices
