- • The AI Engineer II role at CareSource Management Group Company is a pivotal position focused on advancing the organization’s capabilities in generative artificial intelligence, directly contributing to innovative healthcare solutions that improve member outcomes and operational efficiency. This role is critical in translating cutting-edge AI research into scalable, production-ready systems that align with CareSource’s mission of delivering accessible, high-quality care.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include defining and overseeing the architecture for generative AI platforms, encompassing large language models (LLMs), vector databases, and inference pipelines to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable systems. The engineer will design and develop complex software systems using modern AI tools such as OpenAI, Llama, Python, LangChain, and Streamlit, while implementing techniques like retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), semantic search, and embeddings to enhance information retrieval and user interaction. Rapid prototyping of proof-of-concepts is conducted to evaluate emerging technologies and validate business value, supported by AI-assisted development practices including GitHub Copilot and internal tooling. Collaboration with product managers ensures alignment of technical deliverables with business objectives, involving prioritization, scheduling, and transparent progress reporting to stakeholders. The role also entails evaluating existing AI services for optimization, identifying technical risks, proposing mitigation strategies, and staying current with industry trends to drive continuous innovation. Additionally, the engineer will foster teamwork and innovation through a curious, hands-on mindset in a fast-paced environment, contributing to a culture of experimentation and learning.
- • The AI Engineering team operates within CareSource’s broader technology organization, supporting enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives with a focus on responsible AI adoption in healthcare. The team collaborates closely with data scientists, product managers, clinical experts, and IT operations to ensure AI solutions are not only technically sound but also compliant, secure, and aligned with healthcare regulations and member needs. This environment emphasizes cross-functional partnership, agile delivery, and a shared commitment to leveraging technology for equitable health outcomes.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in generative AI engineering, gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art models, MLOps practices, and cloud-native deployment strategies. They will develop leadership capabilities by influencing technical direction, mentoring peers, and contributing to architectural decisions that shape CareSource’s AI roadmap. 🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- • Three (3) years of experience working in a medium to large operating environment
- • Experience with Agile methodologies
- • Proficiency in Python and modern generative AI tools including LLMs, LangChain, vector databases, embeddings, and RAG
- • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as containers and serverless computing (preferred)
- • Cloud certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
