- • Build and own the AI infrastructure that enables reliable software on top of non-deterministic large language models, including agentic workflows, prompt iteration, tool integration, and evaluation systems.
- • Design and implement AI-powered approval workflows that convert natural language instructions (e.g., "require VP approval for deals over $100k with annual terms") into deterministic, auditable business logic for enterprise customers.
- • Develop an intelligent collections agent that autonomously manages late payment workflows based on natural language commands (e.g., "send a reminder at 7 days overdue; escalate at 14 days") while collecting and using relevant contextual data.
- • Create and maintain evals infrastructure including datasets, LLM-as-judge systems, prompt regression tests, and production monitoring to ensure model performance and reliability.
- • Architect resilient backend systems that handle business-critical revenue operations, with deep attention to failure modes, partial recovery, and long-running state management in AI-driven workflows.
- • Select and integrate appropriate tooling for building, evaluating, and securing multi-provider AI systems in production, treating models as untrusted by default and rigorously scrutinizing AI threat vectors.
- • Ship end-to-end solutions from ideation to production, taking ownership of problem definition, implementation, testing, deployment, and customer impact analysis.
- • Collaborate directly with product and design teams within a cross-functional product team to ensure features align with real customer needs and workflow requirements.
- • Participate in on-call rotations for revenue-critical infrastructure, with direct responsibility for system uptime and reliability.
- • Contribute to foundational system architecture in a small, fast-scaling engineering team of 20+ engineers, with significant influence over technical direction and trade-offs.
- • Communicate clearly and frequently, sharing work-in-progress to gather feedback, adapting quickly to input, and documenting decisions to enable team alignment.
- • Maintain a strong focus on customer outcomes—understanding the "why" behind every feature, not just the "what," and ensuring systems serve actual finance team workflows.
- • Work with Kotlin (Http4k, Spring Boot, Exposed, Result4k), Postgres, BigQuery, Vertex AI, Langsmith, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, Terraform, TypeScript, React, Sentry, and Google Cloud Monitoring.
- • Operate in a hybrid environment: three days per week in the London office with team lunches on Wednesdays, and two remote days, with biannual company offsites.
- • Engage with public changelog and engineering principles to align with established development practices and transparency standards.

- • Designed agentic systems with expertise in embeddings, memory, tool use, long-running state, and recovery from partial failures
- • Built evals infrastructure including datasets, LLM-as-judge, prompt regression tests, and production monitoring
- • Experience building resilient, business-critical backend systems on top of non-deterministic models
- • Proven track record of shipping production backend systems with focus on reliability beyond "it works"
- • Comfort with ambiguity, early ideation, rapid feedback loops, and taking ownership across the entire product lifecycle
