Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As the AI Operations Lead at Okta, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our Artificial Intelligence initiatives, acting as the central orchestrator for all AI flows, both internal and product-facing. This is a pivotal individual contributor role where you will establish yourself as the definitive source of truth for our entire AI ecosystem, ensuring clarity, documentation, and compliance as we innovate at the speed of SaaS.
- • You will be responsible for establishing and managing the Enterprise AI Asset Library, a comprehensive repository that will serve as the single source of truth for all AI models, internal workflows, and third-party integrations. This library is crucial for maintaining an organized and auditable AI landscape.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to accelerate revenue and clear paths for market growth by acting as a strategic liaison between Legal, Engineering, and Sales teams. You will build essential cross-functional bridges, transforming complex challenges into competitive advantages and enabling faster go-to-market strategies for AI-driven products and features.
- • You will architect and meticulously document the data provenance and lineage for all AI initiatives. This involves mapping and tracking the entire lifecycle of data, from its origin to its final application in AI models, ensuring that every AI output is fully explainable, audit-ready, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
- • Operationalizing ethics at scale is a core responsibility. You will design and implement high-velocity operational workflows, including AI Impact Assessments (AIIAs) and Model Cards, to rigorously assess privacy, ethical, and legal risks. This proactive approach ensures that AI solutions are deployed with both speed and the highest standards of safety and responsibility.
- • As a strategic vendor gatekeeper, you will maintain and continuously evolve our procurement processes for AI tools. This ensures that every new AI technology integrated into Okta's ecosystem meets our stringent internal trust standards and aligns with our ethical and compliance frameworks before adoption.
- • You will conduct rigorous operational audits of third-party AI capabilities. This involves deep-dive evaluations of vendor practices, focusing on data retention policies and opt-out mechanisms to safeguard Okta's and its customers' most valuable data.
- • A significant part of your role involves transforming high-level governance policies into actionable, high-performance playbooks. This ensures that compliance is seamlessly integrated into daily operations, rather than being an afterthought, fostering a culture of proactive adherence.
- • You will lead the global content curation for AI messaging, ensuring consistency, clarity, and authority across all internal communications and external customer-facing materials. This role requires a strategic approach to communication that reinforces Okta's leadership in identity and AI.
- • Excelling in a remote-first environment, you will practice expert internal diplomacy, adeptly navigating complex stakeholder interests across our global organization. Your ability to foster collaboration and ensure AI initiatives progress efficiently without compromising security will be paramount.
- • In critical incident response scenarios, you will provide essential data maps and asset intelligence to Legal and Security teams. This support is vital for the precise and rapid resolution of potential incidents, minimizing impact and ensuring business continuity.
- • You will bring a proactive, AI-first mindset to the role, possessing a practical understanding of how Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI tools function. Your comfort with the complexities of AI will drive your efforts to document its boundaries and ensure reliable, compliant outputs.
- • This role demands a high degree of autonomy, requiring you to thrive with minimal oversight in a remote-first setting. You are expected to be a self-starter who proactively defines and creates operational processes and documentation.
- • You will leverage your expertise in SaaS ecosystems, understanding cloud architecture, APIs, and the intricacies of data movement within multi-tenant environments to effectively manage AI operations.
- • Your privacy-first mindset, coupled with significant experience in privacy frameworks like GDPR and CCPA, will be crucial for navigating the data residency and usage rights critical in the AI era.
- • You will demonstrate masterful communication skills, capable of building consensus across diverse teams, from Engineering to Legal, with grace and without formal authority, effectively navigating internal dynamics.
- • Your agility in ambiguous situations will be key, providing a steady hand and structured framework to turn evolving AI standards and regulations into a competitive advantage by building foundational systems that enable high-velocity operations without regulatory or operational roadblocks.
- • Finally, you will exhibit grit and emotional intelligence, approaching high-stakes projects with a calm, team-oriented demeanor and a sense of humor, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
