Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • At Brain Co., we are at the forefront of applied AI, building a platform and applications designed to deliver tangible impact for the world's most important institutions. Founded by industry titans Elad Gil and Jared Kushner, and backed by a stellar group of Silicon Valley leaders including Patrick Collison (CEO of Stripe), Andrej Karpathy (Cofounder of OpenAI), Mike Krieger (CPO of Anthropic), Kevin Weil (CPO of OpenAI), and Aravind Srinivas (CEO of Perplexity), we are rapidly transforming real-world problems through AI.
- • Our mission is to move AI from research labs into practical, deployed solutions. We have already achieved significant milestones, such as automating construction permitting for a sovereign government, resulting in an 80% acceleration and unlocking $375 million in value. We've also optimized supply chains for a leading global energy company, achieving a 30% cost reduction and 99% reliability, preventing $100 million in losses. Furthermore, we've streamlined hospital patient care across national health systems, leading to 40% better outcomes and 80% less administrative work. Having raised a $30 million Series A from top investors, we've assembled a formidable team of 40 AI experts from leading organizations like Tesla, Google DeepMind, NVIDIA, and Databricks.
- • As an AI Product Engineer, you will be instrumental in bringing these groundbreaking AI solutions to life. This role is unique, offering the opportunity to work directly with customers from the initial product specification phase through to full deployment. You will be responsible for designing and developing robust front-end interfaces and scalable back-end systems, transforming cutting-edge research into practical, impactful applications.
- • You will play a pivotal role in innovating and deploying advanced software solutions that integrate AI to tackle complex, real-world problems. This involves automating intricate manual processes, particularly within government and industrial sectors. You will leverage modern web frameworks, microservices architecture, and cloud computing to build applications that address sophisticated optimization challenges.
- • A key aspect of this role is making a significant impact by interacting directly with key customer stakeholders. You will collaborate with experienced ex-founders, government officials, ministers, AI researchers, and engineers to understand complex business challenges. Your primary goal will be to deliver software solutions powered by AI that drive measurable improvements.
- • You will be part of a dynamic team where ideas are exchanged freely, and creativity is encouraged. This position requires you to wear multiple hats, encompassing software development, product management, and client interaction. You'll need strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate.
- • Your responsibilities will include optimizing and scaling solutions. This involves building scalable data pipelines, integrating industrial sensor networks, and optimizing application performance and reliability to ensure systems are production-ready. Projects may include optimizing advanced energy production systems, modernizing core government workflows, or enhancing patient outcomes in public healthcare systems.
- • Continuous learning and leadership are integral to this role. You will stay abreast of the latest developments in software engineering and AI, participate actively in code reviews, share your knowledge, and uphold high-quality engineering practices. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior engineers and lead by example.
- • You will make a tangible difference by monitoring and maintaining deployed applications, ensuring they consistently deliver value to governments worldwide. You will work directly with customer engineers and subject matter experts to develop and fine-tune applications that optimize their workflows and deliver significant upside.
- • Your work will directly influence how AI benefits individuals, businesses, and society on a global scale. We are looking for individuals who are eager to travel to customer locations globally for up to six months at a time, working directly with subject matter experts and end-users to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
- • This role is ideal for someone with a minimum of two years of experience who possesses an appetite for working directly with the customer to define software specifications and build solutions from the ground up. You should have experience with both front-end and back-end technologies, microservices, and cloud platforms. Familiarity with modern web tooling such as React, TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and database management systems is essential.
- • You will need to exhibit excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, approaching challenges proactively. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams is crucial, as is thriving in fast-paced environments where priorities and deadlines may compete. We value individuals who are eager to own problems end-to-end and are willing to acquire any necessary knowledge to achieve successful outcomes.
- • The opportunity at Brain Co. is to ship quickly, iterate constantly, and witness your work deployed at a global scale. You will collaborate with industry veterans from leading tech companies and accelerate your career through ownership based on impact, not tenure. We offer competitive compensation, including meaningful equity in a high-growth company, and foster a culture built on speed, curiosity, and impact. If you are driven to see your work deployed at scale with real-world impact, Brain Co. is the place for you.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong preference for experience in client-facing roles such as Forward-Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Integration Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Customer Engineer.
- • Proven experience with both front-end and back-end technologies, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- • Proficiency in modern web tooling, including frameworks like React, languages like TypeScript, experience with RESTful APIs, and database management systems.
- • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach to challenges.
- • Willingness and ability to travel globally to customer locations for extended periods (up to 6 months) to work directly with stakeholders and end-users.
- • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary plus meaningful equity in a high-growth startup.
- • Comprehensive health benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
- • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) policy to support work-life balance.
- • Opportunities for significant career acceleration through ownership based on impact and direct collaboration with industry veterans.
- • Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies and the chance to deploy solutions with real-world global impact.
- • Commuter benefits and 401(k) plan available.
