Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end health of PACS, Epic, and VNA integrations that power the imaging workflows for SSM Health’s 23 hospitals and 300+ clinics across four states. You will configure, test, patch, and tune these mission-critical applications so radiologists, cardiologists, and surgeons receive crisp images in seconds—not minutes.
- • Act as the first-line detective when studies fail to route, when priors don’t auto-match, or when AI findings stall in Epic Hyperspace. You will triage tickets, trace HL7 & DICOM logs, and partner with network, storage, and security teams to restore service before patient care is impacted.
- • Translate clinical requirements into technical reality. When the MR division wants to embed 3-D reconstructions into Epic reports, you will map the data flow, configure the Epic Media Manager objects, validate the DICOM SR objects, and deliver training that turns physicians into power users.
- • Champion upgrades and new module rollouts. You will lead cross-functional task forces to test new PACS versions, Epic point releases, and VNA retention rules in non-production environments, document test scripts, and shepherd changes through CAB approval—all while ensuring zero downtime during go-live.
- • Build and maintain real-time monitoring dashboards (Power BI, Splunk, or native PACS analytics) that alert on study backlog, modality rejections, and storage growth. Your insights will drive capacity planning and cost-avoidance decisions that save the ministry six figures annually.
- • Serve as the primary liaison between Imaging Services, IT Infrastructure, and third-party vendors like Change Healthcare, Sectra, or Hyland. You will negotiate SLAs, track vendor roadmaps, and escalate defects so that SSM Health stays ahead of regulatory and cybersecurity mandates.
- • Mentor junior analysts and rotating clinical informatics residents. You will create runbooks, lunch-and-learn sessions, and sandbox environments that shorten onboarding time from weeks to days and raise the collective IQ of the team.
- • Participate in 24×7 on-call rotation (approximately one week every 6–8 weeks). You will respond from home, VPN in, and coordinate bridge calls until resolution, earning compensatory time for after-hours effort.
- • Contribute to strategic initiatives such as enterprise imaging, cloud archiving, and AI orchestration platforms. Your voice in architecture reviews will shape a five-year technology roadmap that positions SSM Health as a national leader in digital imaging excellence.
- • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and state retention laws. You will conduct quarterly access audits, manage DICOM tag anonymization routines, and maintain documentation that passes internal and external audits with flying colors.
