📋 Description

• As an Applied AI Engineer on the AI Core team at Chainalysis, you will design and build the foundational platform that enables AI agents to securely access and act upon proprietary blockchain data and product capabilities, transforming how users investigate, comply, and automate workflows without requiring deep technical or domain expertise.
• You will own the end-to-end development of agent systems—from designing how AI discovers and invokes skills across Chainalysis’s product suite, to building sandboxed execution environments with tenant isolation and scoped credentials, to shipping full-stack features that expose AI-driven insights and automation through intuitive user interfaces.
• You will work on a high-impact, small-team platform where your contributions directly shape the reliability, security, and extensibility of AI systems that power real-world blockchain investigations and compliance operations for global enterprises and government agencies.
• The AI Core team operates with high ownership and technical depth, offering you the opportunity to pioneer agent-based AI systems in a regulated, data-sensitive domain where innovation must be grounded in safety, auditability, and real-world utility.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in LLM-integrated systems, secure multi-tenant architectures, and full-stack product delivery while contributing to a mission-driven company that enables safer blockchain adoption across industries.
• You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI orchestration patterns, including tool use, prompt engineering, context management, and multi-model routing, all within a production-grade environment that emphasizes observability, reliability, and enterprise-grade security.
• By building systems where AI writes and executes code in isolated environments with full audit trails, you will help redefine what’s possible when AI is not just a feature, but a trusted agent capable of reasoning over complex, structured data and executing meaningful actions on behalf of users.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience building and shipping full-stack features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure, with demonstrated ownership from design through production operation.
• Hands-on experience working with LLMs in production, including tool use, agent orchestration, streaming, prompt engineering, or retrieval-augmented generation, with a clear understanding of failure modes and mitigation strategies.
• Strong backend engineering fundamentals in a typed language (e.g., TypeScript, Python), including concurrency, error handling, state management, and system design principles.
• Experience building or operating systems with real security constraints, such as tenant isolation, scoped credentials, sandboxed execution, or similar trust-boundary patterns.
• Proficiency in delivering frontend experiences using modern stacks, including component architecture, data fetching, and real-time streaming (e.g., React, TanStack Query, Tailwind).
• Demonstrated ability to operate and improve systems in production, including on-call experience, incident debugging, and reliability engineering.
