📋 Description

• Applied AI Engineer at Nexxa s.r.l. in Toronto, Canada, focused on delivering end-to-end AI solutions for heavy industries by embedding with customer teams to solve complex operational challenges using Generative AI, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include engaging with enterprise customers to understand workflows and data needs, architecting and deploying custom AI solutions, leading full project lifecycles from scoping to iteration, integrating and optimizing AI/ML pipelines, building scalable software integrations via APIs and containerization, troubleshooting technical issues across the stack, acting as a trusted technical advisor, partnering with internal teams to shape product roadmap, producing technical documentation and runbooks, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Nexxa.ai is building artificial super intelligence for heavy industries, enabling autonomous decision-making in manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, and legacy environments by translating deep technical breakthroughs into operational reality.
• The role offers the opportunity to solve some of the hardest systems-level problems in industry, gain deep expertise in applied AI deployment, influence product direction through customer feedback, develop leadership and consulting skills, and work at the forefront of AI innovation in real-world industrial settings.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–10+ years in engineering roles such as Forward Deployed Engineer, ML Engineer, Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or similar
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or similar production-oriented languages
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning, including training, fine-tuning, evaluating, or deploying models
• Direct experience with Generative AI (LLMs, multimodal models) and applying them to real-world problems
• Exposure to Computer Vision techniques (detection, segmentation, OCR, embeddings, multimodal pipelines)
• Strong knowledge of ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, etc.)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
• Comfort leading customer-facing engagements and guiding stakeholders through ambiguity
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently
