📋 Description

• As a Technical Lead, Applied AI at Mistral AI, you will serve as the critical bridge between cutting-edge AI research and real-world enterprise deployment, driving the technical strategy and execution of complex AI solutions for strategic customers while leading a team of Applied AI Engineers to ensure successful product delivery and innovation.
• You will be hands-on in delivering critical code for complex AI projects, de-risking key technical components through active coding, review, and optimization, while providing mentorship and technical guidance to your team on best practices for deploying state-of-the-art GenAI applications across industries.
• You will lead technical discussions during pre-sales, translating enterprise customer requirements into actionable AI solutions and communicating Mistral’s technological advantages to diverse stakeholders, including executives and engineers, ensuring alignment between customer needs and product roadmap.
• You will design and oversee the implementation of sophisticated AI systems, including fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and custom LLM applications, ensuring scalability, robustness, and alignment with Mistral’s open-source initiatives and product vision.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers, researchers, and engineering teams to integrate customer feedback into the product development cycle, drive innovation by evaluating emerging AI trends and tools, and champion best practices in fine-tuning, inference, and MLOps for enterprise-scale deployment.

🎯 Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related field
• 7+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership role (e.g., Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, Staff Engineer, or Solutions Architect) focused on AI products or enterprise solutions
• Deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, advanced RAG, agentic systems, and deploying NLP applications at scale, with proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and modern AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, Hugging Face)
