- • The Area Ministry Director leads and oversees a ministry team to plant and grow witnessing communities of students and faculty who follow Jesus on college and university campuses in Tennessee and Kentucky, advancing spiritual transformation and campus-wide influence for the common good and glory of God.
- • Day to day, the role involves spiritual leadership through personal discipleship and Scripture engagement; visionary guidance in setting ministry goals; structural planning and implementation; missional development including recruiting, coaching, and supervising campus ministers; organizational collaboration with regional and national leaders; and ministry partnership development to secure financial and volunteer support.
- • InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is a national, faith-based organization committed to transforming students and faculty through witnessing communities on campuses, fostering ethnic and cultural diversity, and equipping alumni as disciples and change agents globally.
- • In this role, the person will deepen their spiritual maturity, develop advanced leadership and team-building skills, gain experience in strategic planning and financial stewardship, and grow in cross-cultural ministry and partnership development while advancing a mission-driven impact on campuses.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree required
- • Minimum three years of campus ministry or equivalent work experience
- • Strong ministry skills including communicating spiritual vision, teaching biblical principles, planning programs, and discipling, coaching, and mentoring
- • Proven ability to work well with others and develop a team of campus ministers
- • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty
- • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- • Familiarity with word processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software
- • Annual affirmation of InterVarsity’s Statement of Agreement and adherence to its Code of Conduct
