- • As an Associate Actuary in the SPA-Rx (Specialty Pharmacy - Prescription) Analytics/Forecasting team at Humana Inc., you will play a critical role in analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and market data to support strategic and operational decisions that directly impact healthcare affordability and access for millions of members. Your work will ensure data integrity, drive business intelligence, and influence departmental strategy through in-depth analysis of complex variables affecting short-, medium-, and long-term financial performance.
- • Day to day, you will develop and execute data processes and controls to maintain data integrity; collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs, troubleshoot issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement cost-effective resolutions for data anomalies; analyze industry, economic, and market trends to forecast organizational performance; establish key metrics and deliver timely, accurate analyses that support strategic planning; exercise considerable autonomy in determining objectives and approaches for moderately complex to complex projects without direct supervision; and begin to influence departmental strategy through technical decision-making on project components.
- • You will join a mission-driven team within Humana’s CenterWell healthcare services and insurance divisions, where innovation in healthcare delivery is prioritized to improve quality of life for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries, families, individuals, military personnel, and communities nationwide. - • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in actuarial science applied to pharmacy forecasting, gain hands-on experience with advanced analytics tools like SAS and Databricks, develop influence in strategic planning processes, and build a foundation for progression toward Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries while contributing meaningfully to Humana’s mission of affordable, accessible healthcare.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree
- • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
- • MAAA (Member of the American Academy of Actuaries) credential
- • Strong communication skills
- • Passion for improving consumer experiences in healthcare
- • Prior Part D experience (preferred)
- • Strong SAS skills (preferred)
- • Prior Databricks experience (preferred)
