- • The Associate Director, Design is a visionary leader who combines strategic oversight with hands-on design execution to ensure high-quality creative output across paid ads, emails, landing pages, and e-commerce web design, directly contributing to Darkroom’s mission of delivering measurable growth for clients.
- • Day to day, the role involves managing a team of 2-4 designers through weekly 1:1s, providing design feedback, overseeing project timelines, handling escalations, and leading 1-2 UI/UX engagements focused on branded e-commerce websites, while collaborating with marketing, product, and development teams to align design with business objectives.
- • Darkroom is a fast-growing, remote-first growth marketing firm powered by proprietary AI technology, recognized as an Inc. 5000 company and a top performance media agency, where design is central to driving client revenue and innovation at the intersection of technology, marketing, and advertising.
- • In this role, the individual will develop leadership and strategic design skills, build expertise in branded e-commerce UI/UX, refine internal design processes, mentor team members, and gain exposure to cross-functional initiatives that expand influence beyond core design work.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3-6+ years of senior-level design experience with at least 1 year of people management preferred
- • Proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, Components, and Variants
- • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- • Digital portfolio demonstrating web design, branding, color theory, hierarchy, composition, and typography skills
- • Experience collaborating with developers and documenting designs for development hand-off
- • Comfortable with client-facing responsibilities in English, including leading discovery calls and resolving feedback
