- • Serve as the primary legal advisor and subject matter expert for The Cigna Group’s Global Real Estate organization, managing all legal needs related to corporate leasing and real estate portfolio.
- • Review, draft, and negotiate commercial real estate documentation including leases, subleases, purchase and sale agreements, estoppels, and subordination, non-disturbance and attornment agreements.
- • Independently manage end-to-end real estate legal matters with minimal oversight, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth and strategic objectives.
- • Advise on corporate leasing, acquisition, and disposition strategies to support business transformation and risk mitigation.
- • Handle landlord-tenant disputes by preparing and responding to demand letters and other legal communications.
- • Oversee property tax matters for owned facilities, including coordination with local government entities.
- • Manage and coordinate legal services provided by outside counsel as needed for real estate transactions and special projects.
- • Provide legal support for real estate investment matters and other special real estate initiatives as required.
- • Evaluate and design legal structures to manage risk, uphold integrity, and adapt to evolving regulatory environments in commercial real estate.
- • Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization to deliver practical, strategic legal solutions.
- • Manage a high volume of lease agreements, including amendments, renewals, and related documentation for a large, multi-location corporate portfolio.
- • Ensure compliance with legal standards and corporate policies while advancing operational efficiency and legal clarity across global real estate operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active license to practice law
- • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in commercial real estate law, including leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions
- • Significant, hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial real estate leases as a core responsibility
- • Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of lease agreements, including amendments, renewals, and related documentation
- • Experience supporting a large, multi-location corporate real estate portfolio preferred
- • Proven ability to independently manage end-to-end real estate legal matters with minimal oversight

- • Annual salary range of $157,100 - $261,800 USD, depending on experience and geographic location
