đź“‹ Description
- • Own end-to-end corporate compliance and governance for U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions, proactively identifying risks and implementing preventive systems rather than merely reacting to deadlines.
- • Conduct structured legal research on regulatory, consumer protection, and product-related issues, translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders—not just legal memos.
- • Serve as the first-line owner for complex consumer escalations and regulatory inquiries, investigating root causes, assessing legal exposure, and proposing scalable, practical solutions while spearheading compliance training initiatives.
- • Collaborate directly with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams to review product features, user flows, and business policies for legal and regulatory compliance, helping translate legal requirements into operational and product decisions.
- • Monitor intellectual property for potential infringements and support enforcement strategies, including drafting and initiating cease-and-desist workflows to protect the company’s brand.
- • Lead internal compliance audits across operational functions, proactively monitoring high-risk areas to ensure practices exceed baseline regulatory standards and establish industry benchmarks.
- • Identify repetitive or manual legal tasks and design scalable, tech-enabled solutions using AI tools, low-code platforms, automation, or process improvements to build a modern, efficient legal function.
- • Work closely with Legal Counsel and executive leadership to drive strategic legal initiatives that align with the company’s high-growth trajectory and product innovation.
- • Maintain a zero-error standard in all regulatory filings, compliance documentation, and audit outcomes, demonstrating rigorous organizational discipline to ensure no deadlines or cross-functional deliverables are missed.
- • Operate autonomously in ambiguous environments with a sense of urgency, taking full ownership of outcomes and closing loops without oversight.
- • Leverage technology and data-driven approaches to optimize legal workflows, preferring automated systems and spreadsheets over manual checklists to increase efficiency and reduce human error.
- • Contribute to building a future-forward legal function that integrates seamlessly with a tech-centric, AI-driven business model centered on simplifying car ownership.
- • Engage in cross-functional projects that require translating legal constraints into product design, customer experience, and operational protocols to enable scalable growth.
- • Participate in shaping the company’s compliance culture by embedding legal best practices into daily operations across departments.

- • Strong academic background in law, including a Bachelor’s degree, JD, LLM, or PhD in a legal field
- • Proven track record of extreme resourcefulness and an innate ability to find answers independently before seeking help
- • Interest in using AI and technology to optimize workflows, preferring automation and digital tools over manual processes
- • Impeccable attention to detail with a zero-error mentality for regulatory filings and compliance audits
- • Ability to thrive in high-performance, ambiguous environments with deep ownership and urgency
- • Demonstrated ability to translate legal analysis into practical, business-friendly recommendations for non-legal stakeholders
