  • • Embark on a transformative career journey as an Associate Software Engineer at ResMed Inc., a pioneering force in redefining healthcare technology. You will be an integral part of the Open Health Marketplace team, dedicated to building secure, scalable, and intelligent cloud-based solutions that facilitate seamless data exchange across the healthcare continuum. This role is specifically designed to empower individuals with a foundational understanding of software development, offering a robust platform for professional growth and hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools and methodologies.
  • • Your primary contribution will be to the development, testing, and integration of software that underpins healthcare interoperability and data exchange. Working under the guidance and mentorship of seasoned engineers, you will gain invaluable insights into modern development practices, secure software engineering principles, and the intricacies of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
  • • You will actively participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial design and coding to testing and deployment. This includes developing and maintaining robust backend services utilizing Node.js, a powerful JavaScript runtime environment. Simultaneously, you will contribute to the frontend development efforts, leveraging modern frameworks like ReactJS, along with TypeScript and JavaScript, to create intuitive and responsive user interfaces.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves assisting in the implementation and refinement of RESTful APIs, ensuring efficient and secure communication between different system components. You will also play a crucial role in supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes, which encompass automated builds, rigorous testing, and streamlined deployment pipelines, ensuring rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • • Adherence to best practices in software quality is paramount. You will be responsible for writing comprehensive unit and integration tests, with a strong emphasis on Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles. This proactive approach to testing ensures code reliability and maintainability from the outset.
  • • Furthermore, you will engage in debugging activities to identify and resolve software defects, as well as participate in basic performance tuning to optimize application efficiency. Maintaining clear and up-to-date system documentation, including technical specifications, is essential for knowledge sharing and future development.
  • • Collaboration is at the heart of our development culture. You will work within a paired programming environment, fostering a collaborative spirit and enabling knowledge transfer. Additionally, you will leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance productivity, assisting with code generation, refactoring, and the creation of test cases, thereby accelerating the development process.
  • • A significant and exciting part of this role involves integrating diverse healthcare systems using established standards like HL7 v2.x and FHIR. You will gain practical experience with integration engines, such as Rhapsody, to bridge gaps in healthcare data flow. This work directly contributes to improving how healthcare organizations connect, collaborate, and ultimately, how patient care is delivered.
  • • You will learn and diligently apply best practices for secure and scalable healthcare data exchange, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safeguarding sensitive patient information. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the next generation of digital health infrastructure, making a tangible impact on improving patient outcomes and the efficiency of healthcare delivery. Your growth will be supported through continuous learning, mentorship, and exposure to complex, real-world healthcare technology challenges.
