- • Provide executive leadership for auto, property, and other claims operations teams to deliver scalable operational business results, including member service, claims payment accuracy, expense control, employee engagement, quality, and compliance.
- • Set operational goals and performance metrics aligned with enterprise-wide claims targets and strategic objectives.
- • Design and implement claims strategies that support Property & Casualty (P&C) mission objectives and drive enterprise-wide operational improvements.
- • Sponsor and lead large-scale transformational initiatives across claims operations, focusing on efficiency, effectiveness, regulatory adherence, and compliance.
- • Oversee the development, implementation, and enforcement of functional policies, procedures, and guidelines across claims processes.
- • Identify and evaluate internal and external strategic issues impacting the claims product line and develop data-informed solutions.
- • Serve as an executive sponsor for cross-functional P&C projects, influencing and collaborating with peers to align on shared accountabilities and mission outcomes.
- • Represent USAA with external partners, regulators, and industry stakeholders as appropriate to ensure compliance and operational alignment.
- • Establish and maintain effective operational controls in alignment with risk and compliance policies, ensuring risks are identified, measured, monitored, and mitigated.
- • Hire, develop, coach, and retain high-performing claims leaders to drive results and sustain a culture of excellence.
- • Influence and execute claims servicing solutions across process, technology, workforce, third-party vendors, and analytics to enhance P&C product competitiveness.
- • Translate strategic vision into actionable tactical plans and execute them with precision to achieve measurable business outcomes.
- • Leverage data insights and analytics to inform decision-making, drive operational improvements, and recommend strategic changes to leadership.
- • Ensure full compliance with Department of Insurance regulations, Fair Claims Practices, and federal laws governing claims handling.
- • Drive member service, accuracy, and efficiency improvements in both in-office and virtual claims environments.
- • Lead workflow transitions and operating model shifts at scale to optimize claims delivery and reduce operational friction.
- • Apply technical property claims expertise, including water claims proficiency and Core Property Claims strategy experience, to deliver measurable productivity gains.
- • Utilize emerging claims technologies, automation tools, and AI-assisted processing systems to modernize operations.
- • Articulate a clear operational vision, align teams to strategic outcomes, and lead execution to completion across distributed, diverse, and remote workforces.
- • Maintain working knowledge of multi-state regulatory environments and ensure operational compliance across jurisdictions.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10 years of progressive customer service, operational, military, or leadership experience, including a minimum of 8 years of demonstrated Property & Casualty (P&C) proficiency
- • 6 years of people leadership experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams
- • Proven ability to influence leaders across multiple disciplines and executive levels
- • Strong knowledge and applied compliance with Department of Insurance, Fair Claims Practices, and federal claims handling regulations
- • Experience developing P&C business solutions, including building business cases, creating influence, and delivering measurable results
- • Demonstrated ability to convert strategic vision into tactical plans and execute them effectively
