📋 Description

• As an AWS Cloud Engineer at UltraViolet Cyber, you will play a critical role in securing national infrastructure by designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based cybersecurity solutions for federal clients, directly contributing to the resilience of government systems against evolving cyber threats in a mission-driven environment where technical excellence meets public service.
• You will architect, deploy, and manage AWS cloud environments supporting federal cybersecurity operations, including configuring secure VPCs, IAM roles, security groups, and logging/monitoring systems (CloudTrail, CloudWatch, GuardDuty) to ensure compliance with FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD standards while enabling scalable, resilient infrastructure for threat detection and response platforms.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of security analysts, DevOps engineers, and compliance specialists to automate infrastructure-as-code using Terraform or CloudFormation, optimize cloud costs and performance, troubleshoot complex networking and security issues, and ensure seamless integration of security tools (SIEM, EDR, SOAR) within AWS ecosystems supporting 24/7 SOC operations.
• You will maintain rigorous documentation, participate in change management processes, conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans, and support audit readiness for federal assessments (e.g., ATO, FISMA), ensuring all cloud infrastructure adheres to strict government security baselines and continuous monitoring requirements.
• You will provide tier-3 technical support for cloud-related incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to enhance system uptime and reliability, working within a hybrid model that requires one day per week onsite in Arlington, VA to support classified or sensitive operations requiring physical presence.
• You will stay current with emerging AWS services, federal cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., CJIS, IRS 1075), and zero-trust architectures, actively contributing to internal knowledge sharing and helping shape the company’s cloud security roadmap for federal clients.

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (required for federal client work)
• 3+ years of hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, RDS)
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform or AWS CloudFormation) and automation scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)
• Familiarity with federal compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, DoD CCSS) and security best practices for cloud environments
• Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls) and security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners)
