• • You will have a significant impact on the direction and development of critical ClearScore services and tools, directly contributing to our ability to scale efficiently and effectively on a global scale.
• • From your initial days, you will be empowered to deploy your code to production environments, reaching millions of users worldwide, and will be responsible for crafting new features designed to attract and engage our expanding user base.
• • A key aspect of your role will involve developing integrations with new partners across the globe, enabling ClearScore to penetrate underserved markets and deliver even more valuable financial deals to our customers.
• • You will be working within a sophisticated global microservices architecture, primarily written in Scala, leveraging the power of functional programming to deliver exceptional value to our users.
• • Our current microservices communicate seamlessly through REST API calls, ensuring robust integration between various components of our system.
• • You will play an active role in our ongoing strategic transition towards a fully event-driven architecture, with Kafka serving as a central component of this evolution.
• • Your technical toolkit will include the Typelevel Stack (Cats, Cats Effect, http4s, Circe), Kafka, and SBT, with occasional work involving Akka HTTP.
• • You will collaborate closely with a world-class Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team that champions a "you build it, you run it" philosophy, providing you with the autonomy and tools to work with AWS, Kubernetes, and Spinnaker.
• • We operate a comprehensive Quality Assistance program, which means you will be involved in building, testing, releasing, and monitoring your own work, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability.
• • Our commitment to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and rigorous peer-review processes enables us to achieve frequent yet resilient releases to our global services, ensuring stability and reliability.
• • You will be integrated into a cross-functional squad, working in close collaboration with Frontend Engineers, Native Engineers, Test Engineers, and Product Managers to conceptualize and build new features for our applications.
• • You will become part of a large, global community of approximately 50 backend developers, representing a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. We highly value contributions from individuals with non-traditional career paths, including those from coding bootcamps, recognizing the unique perspectives they bring.
• • This role is part of a broader global engineering function at ClearScore, comprising around 150 developers, offering ample opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.
