• In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and operating sophisticated backend services that power subscription payments for millions of users worldwide. You will tackle complex challenges related to the entire billing lifecycle, from initial subscription sign-ups to recurring renewals and payment processing. This involves deep dives into implementing and maintaining global payment integrations, ensuring accurate invoicing, and performing meticulous reconciliation to maintain financial reliability.
• You will be working with a diverse array of payment providers, including industry leaders like Stripe, Adyen, and Braintree. Your responsibilities will extend to supporting a wide range of international currencies and an ever-growing list of local payment methods, catering to the unique needs of our global user base. This requires a keen understanding of international payment regulations and best practices.
• A significant aspect of this role involves modernizing our existing legacy systems. You will be tasked with identifying and eliminating technical debt, refactoring code, and implementing new architectural patterns to enhance system velocity, scalability, and maintainability. 🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with deep expertise in building and scaling distributed systems, particularly for financial or mission-critical workloads.
• Strong foundation in data modeling, transactional consistency, and high-throughput architectures, with hands-on SQL experience (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and familiarity with NoSQL and caching technologies.
• Strong coding ability in Ruby, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and secure code.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, finance, risk, and platform teams.
