- • Sr Backend Engineer, LATAM - API (100% Remote) at Hopper Inc. is a pivotal role focused on designing, building, and operating a public API that enables partners to create world-class travel portals, directly contributing to Hopper’s B2B growth and global travel fintech leadership.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable backend systems in Scala on GCP, collaborating asynchronously with product, design, and partner teams to deliver features, exploring engineering improvements, and ensuring high alignment through autonomous yet cooperative work in a low-meeting environment.
- • You will join Hopper’s Technology Solutions group, a high-impact, entrepreneurial team of engineers, designers, and product managers powering Hopper’s B2B division (HTS), which drives over 75% of the company’s business by integrating fintech and travel inventory for major brands like Capital One, Air Canada, and Nubank.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in distributed systems, public API lifecycle management, and Scala-based backend engineering while making massive impact in a fast-growing, well-funded startup shaping the future of travel ecommerce in a $1T market.
🎯 Requirements
- • Experience building, maintaining, documenting, and operating a public API
- • Experience with, or willingness to learn, distributed system development in Scala
- • Registered as a Monotributista or Responsable Inscripto with AFIP and able to issue valid legal invoices (Factura B or C)
