📋 Description
- • Control is building a private custody platform for digital wealth designed for families and individuals who think in generations, not market cycles, offering a rare opportunity to shape foundational infrastructure where trust, reliability, and craftsmanship are measured in decades.
- • As a Sr Staff Fullstack Engineer, you will be a foundational builder of Control v2, working closely with the CTO to design and build the backend systems that power wallet operations, transaction signing, asset custody, and portfolio management across multiple blockchains, while stepping into frontend integration when needed to unblock delivery and ensure seamless user experiences.
- • You will own critical technical decisions including PostgreSQL schema design for financial and blockchain data, blockchain interaction layers for EVM, Solana, Bitcoin, Cosmos, and future networks, and systems handling concurrency, idempotency, failure recovery, and edge cases where real assets are at stake.
- • The team is small, remote, and highly autonomous — your judgment directly determines product quality, and you will contribute to architectural standards, engineering culture, and technical direction as a senior voice shaping a greenfield product with real users and market validation.
- • You will write migration scripts to transition legacy v1 data safely, implement webhook handlers and background jobs for transaction monitoring and balance refreshes, and leverage AI tools daily as a force multiplier for code generation, review, documentation, and problem-solving — treating AI as infrastructure, not a novelty.
- • Your work will include comprehensive automated testing across unit, API, integration, and E2E layers, ensuring the coverage discipline required for a custody platform, while advocating for user-centric design even when working deep in the backend.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of technical leadership and system ownership.
- • 8+ years working with TypeScript across both Node.js and React environments.
- • Proven blockchain/Web3 backend experience — having shipped production wallet infrastructure, custody systems, DeFi backends, blockchain data platforms, or similar.
- • Strong backend API design skills in Node.js / TypeScript: validation, error handling, idempotency, and production-grade service architecture.
- • Deep experience with PostgreSQL — relational schema design, indexing strategies, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- • Demonstrated ability to design systems that handle concurrency, race conditions, async workflows, and failure recovery correctly.
- • Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals: transaction lifecycle, gas estimation, RPC providers, signing flows, and multi-chain addressing.
- • Experience with background job processing and asynchronous systems.
- • High standards for code quality, testing, observability, and backend best practices.
- • Comfortable owning features end-to-end and operating autonomously in a small, remote team.
