đź“‹ Description
- • Lead a team of three backend engineers responsible for designing, building, and maintaining mission-critical systems including loan origination architecture, compliance platforms, and pricing engines that serve over 7 million customers across Africa.
- • Own the full software lifecycle of backend services—from initial architecture design and ideation through production deployment, observability, monitoring, and eventual decommissioning—in a true DevOps culture where infrastructure as code and continuous delivery are non-negotiable.
- • Set technical direction and provide architectural guidance for event-driven microservices built on C#/.NET, leveraging Azure cloud services and messaging platforms such as Service Bus.
- • Partner closely with a dedicated Product Manager to co-create roadmaps, prioritize initiatives, and align engineering delivery with business goals for financial inclusion products.
- • Foster a culture of quality by default: embed automated testing, observability, and monitoring as foundational elements in every stage of development, not as afterthoughts.
- • Coach and mentor engineers through servant leadership, focusing on professional growth, technical mastery, and collaborative problem-solving rather than top-down direction.
- • Drive innovation within a dynamic, high-impact team environment that owns end-to-end solutions and is accountable for system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- • Build systems that process over 2 million daily payments across five African markets while scaling infrastructure to support the next 10 million customers.
- • Contribute to a carbon-negative company that has avoided 2.155 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions through clean energy and circular economy products integrated into the financial platform.
- • Work with a tight-knit, globally distributed team operating across UK, Europe, and Africa, supporting a fully remote workflow within UTC-1 to UTC+3 time zones.
- • Engage with a product ecosystem that enables affordable smartphones, digital credit, and financial services for unbanked populations—specifically empowering Every Day Earners excluded from traditional finance.
- • Participate in professional development programmes and coaching partnerships designed to accelerate career growth and leadership capabilities.
- • Ensure all systems adhere to high standards of security, compliance, and customer-centric design while supporting M-KOPA’s mission of financial inclusion for women, youth, and low-income communities.
