• Prototype, develop, and iterate on interactive workflow interfaces specifically tailored for life sciences users, enhancing their ability to interact with complex biological data and models.
• Create and refine sophisticated data visualization tools that are crucial for model interpretation, enabling users to make better-informed decisions based on complex biological insights.
• Work closely with technical stakeholders to develop and deliver intuitive Software Development Kits (SDKs), empowering them to leverage the platform's capabilities effectively.
• Develop and maintain secure, compliant cloud environments designed to protect sensitive biological data and research results, adhering to the highest standards of data security and privacy.
• Build and optimize distributed systems engineered for the efficient processing of massive-scale datasets, leveraging both CPU and GPU infrastructure to maximize performance and throughput.
• Maintain and enhance the core backend infrastructure that underpins scalable storage and compute capabilities, ensuring the platform can grow with increasing demands.
• Design and implement advanced storage and search systems that are optimized to meet escalating scale requirements and stringent latency targets, facilitating rapid data access and retrieval.
• Develop and deploy internal systems aimed at significantly improving developer productivity, including streamlined development environments and robust automated deployment pipelines, fostering a culture of efficiency and rapid iteration.
• Take ownership of critical backend components, from initial design and architecture through to implementation, testing, and ongoing maintenance.
• Contribute to architectural discussions, bringing your expertise in distributed systems and scalable infrastructure to bear on complex technical challenges.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience implementing or working extensively with distributed systems and associated technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid working knowledge across the full application stack, including API design, web frameworks, data modeling, and relational databases.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and autonomously in fast-paced, dynamic, and evolving environments.
• Experience working with large-scale data technologies (e.g., Parquet, Pandas) is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with biological datasets (e.g., sequence data) or bioinformatics tooling would be a significant advantage.
• Contributions to open-source projects are a plus.
